As to the Band photo. What does one expect from 50 something's still trying to live that rock and roll life style. They are not aging gracefully.

Also, I think Billy stopped with the hot chick bassists. They just have some random dude doing it now. But without a doubt, Smashing Pumpkins line up of female bass players is bar none the GOAT.

Well, I always thought of it as Billy WAS the band, and the rest were hired musicians for live shows, essentially. But I don’t know all the ins and outs.

Billy has said that during the recording of Siamese Dream the band quit on him, so he said fuck it and played the majority of the instruments himself and did the recording himself.

He has also said that he basically took a jazz drummer and a couple of guitarists who couldn’t play their instruments and made a rock band (I’m probably paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it).

Yeah, he has pretty much always come across as a self important douche bag, but he made some pretty good tunes and I never had to put up with his bullshit personally.

I love artists like that, a band like tool (minus Maynard) is an amazing musical discussion between members but seeing one vision totally realised is satisfying.

Still listen to them on occasion. Always had a similar “wall of sound” thing going on on a lot of tracks.

Always been attracted to bands where one person does the lion’s share of the work. It is focused on a certain style, and if that’s your thing, then a lot of the discography will appeal to you. Corgan, as an individual, seems to be quite the character too.

Pic looks similar to any older group. Always a bit weird to see old fellas trying to look hip
