Whats a good timing for running 2 miles?

I have to pass a PT test (run 2 miles in 16:36, do 35 push-ups in 2 minutes, 47 sit-ups in two minutes) learn the army phonetic alphabet (already got that down) know all the enlisted ranks, officer ranks, and warrant officer ranks, learn military time, and do some other crap, and I get promoted to E-3

Its called the DEP/DTP Pre-BT Task List.

those guys in the war room didnt even know about this? lol! theyre so old school they dont know shit

PT test is simple, bro. It's all psychological. Set you goals at 2 miles in 15 min(easy), 45 pushups in 2 min(easy) 65 situps in 2 minutes(easy).

Use this mind trick on urself and u'll cruise to E3 in no time.

nope.

Corporal
CPL
E-4

Corporal is an NCO

E-4 also has Specialist, whicn isnt an NCO

When you first hit E-4 you will be a specialist ( spec-4 is another common name for it ). You will only be promoted to CPL if you show great leadership ability or go to PLDC but don't have enough points to go to the board.

Generally the only people given E-4 rank just going in are soldiers with a college degree, but choose to go enlisted vs officer.

Wow I hadn't looked at the age chart in a while, it would be easy to get a higher score now

27-31

39/77

45/82

17:00/13:18

bigbadwolf, you're a fucking idiot...

cut and dry, you're a fucking idiot...

Thankyou....seems that BBW fell for the recruitment spiel. Am I not correct in assuming only a fraction of those who make this grade he

Are you talking about getting CPL? or making E-3 before he goes in? it is possible to make e-3 going in, but I honestly do not know what it entails. I was an E-2 when I went in because I referred someone. There really isn't much difference between e-1 and e-2, I believe it takes like 6 months to go from E-1 to E2

Being E-3 when you go in....

you know what happens in the marine corps when a kid gets to his first fleet unit as an e-3?

HE GETS FUCKED UP!

Bwahahahah same in the army ( at least infantry) that cherry gets smoked so hard the little smiley face that the PFC rank makes starts to frown.

Hell yeah. It takes about 3 seconds before he realizes he doesn't know shit, and the cocky attitude he arrives with turns to "Oh Shit!" real fuckin fast.

thats possible?

10 minutes is more like what a really good marathon runner would be doing.

I played soccer all my life, and by the time I got to high school and ran track in spring to stay in shape, I was running one mile in 4:48 (I was a sprinter so this was the only time I ran a distance event). Our top distance runner was a senior that did it in 4:25.

For the average person that wasn't a tall, skinny stickfigure like myself, 16 minutes is pretty good.

LOL

I got down to 2 miles in 12 minutes when I was thinking about joining the Army or Marines... Can you get a good runnner to help pace you?

To make the "A" team in my college soccer team, you had to run 2 miles in 12 minutes.

UBetterTapOut, did you get that time before you got to 260lb or after?

10 minutes is well possible for someone with good muscle mass. Many AFL footballers can run in 10 mins

elite distance runners would be doing it in sub 8 minutes !

Anything sub 12 minutes is good, closer to 11 mins would be excellent and year 10 mins and under very very excellent

yeah!! hoooaaahh!! ur such a tough guy!

stfu

anyways I ran it in 15:50 :D Cut off a whole minute

I cant believe you people are actually talking about your best times at 2 miles. Try 5-8 miles and then post the time of that.

If you can do it in 14 minutes you're golden.

That's the pace i run it at.

My best 5-mile time = just over 26 minutes

lol these guys in this thread are talking about 2 miles in 10 minutes a great feat and your saying you ran 5 miles in 26 minutes? I know champion mountain bikers and competitive runners that cant do that. You must be thinking 5k unless your one of the best 5 mile runners in the world. My personal best 5 mile run was 35 minutes which if you do the math would be 7 minute mile average which is decent.
