I accept all kinds of critics given to him : too temptative, weird, clowns too much, used steroïds, did not face the best competition etc etc...

He is not a brawler and he sure plays a lot with his opponents. He talks with this uncomparable high pitched voice and has this annoying tendency to bow to his knees to every man he fought with ("if you bow in brazil they'll hit you over the head and take your wallet out of your pocket"). He's a big troll, plays with medias, and the steroïd viagra gate was embarrassing.

Some say he might have taken PEDs his all career. It's an assumption. And the same assumption can be made about all the fighters of the roster taking PEDs. Anyway. You can't take away from him the fact that he came back from a broken leg, at 40 fuckin years old, and put on a great show against the man who is now the MW champion.

Whatever you say about Anderson, at least hespect his determination ! Cause i know a younger russian that did not perform as well (ahem)

Anderson is a legend. He was the most feared man in mma for a long time and considered absolutely untouchable and p4p best while he reigned.

He will always have my respect.

He has your respect but not your hespect? Shame.

Silva is the GOAT.

Jones is the only one who can surpass his greatness.

Anderson is older than fedor , much lighter than fedor but I know that if they fought right now Anderson would ko fedor stiff without breaking a sweat

They should make the match

I'm a hater (Maia fight) but I've never doubted his talent. Absolute legend

Anderson and his career have definitely stood the test of time better then Fedors, (which is understandable given the wars Fedor has been in) but lets not act like Fedor isn't still in the GOAT discussion with him.

If your GOAT isn't a bald, lanky Brazilian or a chubby Russian then you're doing it all wrong.

Good thread. Let us never forget Anderson is a fucking beast who did amazing things in the cage.

GOAT is not a real thing. They both dominated their opposition at the height of their career and their success put a big target on their back which people eventually started hitting once they got older.

Fedor was essentially retired from competition/high level competition for 4-5 years and so you really can't make any comparisons. The height of Anderson's career lasted around 7 years so that's an extremely significant time period to be out, particularly when his attentions were (clearly) pulled in a different direction than MMA.

Why, do people need to defend this guy? He's the greatest MMA fighter of all time and his resume and his 10 title defenses speak for themselves..lol

He is the most influential MMA fighter, his style is what pushed the sport the most to evolve to what it is today.

Anderson Silva can still come back and take the title if he wants it bad enough.

Fedor hasn't been serious about fighting since like 2006. Fedor taking a bar fight now and then won't keep him in shape and sharp.

Anderson has been pretty active in the last 10 years.

You must have missed that 2 year stretch where he got relentlessly shitted on every single day.

Anderson was overrated. As soon as he fought a real fighter he got exposed and ktfo. Also, I noticed Silva doesn't turn his hips when he's throwing punches. His striking is a joke.
