Colby is one of the most overrated fighters of all time and I hope Buckley takes his head clean the fuck off so we don't have to listen to his shtick anymore

I'm mostly worried Buckley doesn't have the defensive wrestling capability to stop Colby from leg humping him for 25 minutes

I’m hoping it’s multiple times more devastating than the jumping spin-kick on Impa, give Colby a permanent speech impediment so he’s too embarrassed to ever speak in public again.

Though to be fair at his best he was pretty damn good - was competitive with prime Usman, their first fight is a legendary dog fight where both fight like morons in a back-alley, I was thoroughly entertained!

Colby looked physically weak. Leon getting up and immediately kicks him in the head before taking him down was not a good look for Colby.
He was actually outgrappling Colby majority of the fight, he didnt need to get up at the end because he already won.

I could be wrong about him being weak maybe he was just intimidated by Leon's speed and reaction time.
He was too slow to implement the only game plan he knows, pressure, without getting tuned up.
The Colby we saw lacked that non stop motor which was his primary advantage. Without it he’s going to have a real tough time in the division.

How do you actually see this fight going?

Watching Ilia crack Max's chin was a great MMA moment and a sad one at the same time. Watching Buckley crack Colby's chin will just be a great MMA moment.

I hope Buckley knocks all the teeth out of Colby's head that Masvidal didn't crack already.

I hope Buckley beats Colby up for a bit, takes him down, and squeezes his head off with a RNC. Sure, blood is nice and all, but Colby being embarrassingly outgrappled by a striker would be just delicious. And, while Buckley's never tried a submission, he does have pretty decent takedowns, so it's not quite as ludicrous a scenario as it sounds.

Not sure how much his means, but in his past several fights to make it to the third round, Buckley's best round in each fight was, by a fair margin, the third round. He's never fought five rounds, but it's also a while since he didn't step it up late in the fight.

It's a bad look for Colby to get taken down, but it's not a bad look for Leon to be kept down at the end of the fight?

Anyway, I agree that Colby looks kinda weak for the division. Meanwhile Buckley is a fookin unit, and in his prime. I believe Colby had a foot issue vs Leon, but all that says is his body is getting worn down, not that he's necessarily gonna be back better, as no one gets more healthier while fighting and training more.

Basically, Colby has to come in with wrestling skills totally on point or he'll get creamed. He has the cardio edge, too, but the more time he spends there trying to melt Buck, the more of a chance he's giving him to get caught. And if old ass Mas could do it late in a fight, Buckley can as well.

He's been the worst kind of top 5 gatekeeper for years now.

Keeps getting title shots on a losing streak, won't fight anyone trying to break into the top 5 other than old man Masvidal who he knew he could outwrestle from training together, and his kayfabe has never even been funny.

After Buckley cracks his jaw, at least as an honest top 15 gatekeeper he can fight some new guys before he retires.
