He got caught plagiarizing and they fired him for it, which I think was silly, especially considering he was better than most of if not all the commentators we have today.

But plagiarism from what and to whom? How serious was it?

Florian revealed on the "Anik & Florian Podcast" he was lined up to work the 2024 PFL 2 event April 12 in Las Vegas, before recently notified PFL of his departure instead.

"Originally I was supposed to be working it, but I did inform the PFL that I was no longer going to do broadcasting for them," Florian said. Still he was in the spotlight for awhile and then got dropped and unplugged like he he was Jared from Subway after they found out his secret. Very bizarre. I wasn't a fan, but didn't hate the guy. Crazy how deep they buried the guy, he was a company guy like Bisping or DC before.

Plus, it's not like we're talking about something prestigious that actually matters lol. It's fucking ufc commentary.

Yeah but didn’t he basically lift an entire analysis from a YouTuber? I agree that there’s a fine line between influence and imitation but you can’t just take the entirety of someone else’s analysis and pass it off as your own if that’s your job.

That’s why I always cite Sherdog forum members whenever I speak hilariously bad mma takes in public. Credit where credit is due.

It's more so that they have more than enough guys chomping at the bit to do commentary that there's no reason for them to keep a guy who will bring any sort of unnecessary controversy. It's simply a bad look for sponsors and brass for literally no upside.
