Social What were you doing 10 years ago?

10 years ago i was on winter break from school. I remember specifically I was trynna hang out with a girl from high school that I had been simping over and remember specifically making a joke about us getting together before the world ended.

i know you didn't ask for this part but im including it anyway.

10 years later after further research/study, I've come to the conclusion the world actually did end. Not literally, but we werw leaving the age of Pisces and entering into the age of Aquarius. Shoutout to Enki.

Dana Farber?

Ha I was splitting my time in Boston as well.
I was at Merck which has a satellite site just down the block from there. It is on Louis Pasteur more towards Fenway if you were at Dana Farber. Just up the street from Harvard Med School. We collaborated with Dana though. Enjoyed my time there. Boston is a great town. Just cost of living is terrible. How long were you in Boston?

I was going nowhere fast. Horrible dead-end, low paying, brutal work, living at my brothers, doing alot of dumb shit with a net worth of 1k$. Then I met my wife and I started making good decisions. Id def be surprised and happy with future me.

Public school teacher in Vegas and very happy. Now? Retired in western NY state and not so happy.

Year and a half and then split my time there for another 3 and a half. Ya I know that Merck location. I've also been to the West Point, PA location many times.

I was just a few years out of college, I have done a lot since then from a career and auto racing standpoint. My 2012 self would be impressed with what I have accomplished.

Hard to believe how big that site is. Very cool.

Depressed probably. My highschool life was a nightmare. I was a pretty smart kid but I just don't know what I want to do in my life. My biggest goal in life is to get rich so I can spoil my mother with all the great things life can offer, so this feeling of not knowing just make me feel like a burden.

I also got bullied a lot by my older brother whom I used to look up to. Over the years he has done good things for me but I just have this bitter feelings from the past that I can't let go so I cut him off earlier this year.

These 2 things makes me very depressed and want to quit living altogether. If I don't have my mother I'll def do it 10 years ago.

I had just started a very high paying high stress job. We were away for 2 week clips 4 times in 2012 for intense training and classes. We stayed in a Marriott or Sheraton in Overland Park Kansas. Missed my family but we worked hard and played harder. We dominated the hotel bar most nights. Ate like kings. Drank way too much. At the time I was separated from my wife for a few months and took advantage. I could create a thread on the Hotel bar scene for traveling business people. These hotels had conventions and if it were a female dominated industry, we rarely slept alone. There was 14 of us and we are life long friends to this day. At the end of that year I reconciled with my Wife and we got a huge end of year bonus. Been happy ever since.

I was past retirement age but still working. I had noticed that I was physically deteriorating but I didn't think it would be this bad 10 years later.
Always thought you were like 35 years old.

Was the start of a bad time in my life. Looking back, I'm just thankful I was able to pull myself out.

I was pretty messed up after my first real breakup ~ 24 years old. Going out drinking all the time and being an early 20s single guy

What’s the logic behind cashing your checks and putting a bit of every check aside into a small safe in rubber-banded stacks of cash?

I'd think it's obvious - to save money, but I suppose you're asking why that as opposed to a bank.

Well, I find it easier to have my funds separate from a bank account. If I put it in a checking or savings I'd be more inclined to spend it... even if the spending was justified. Having it separate altogether made it a "can't touch this"

money.

Also, it was very appealing having tons of cash wrapped up in rubber bands, it was more "visual" and was a visual reminder of my hard work that I got to see. We can argue that such a thing is unsafe or unwise, but it was in the past.

in 2012 i had just gotten my gimmick up to black belt while this account was doing an 8-year bid for pwning mods

I just looked back on FB. I was in Hong Kong for almost 3 weeks in December 2012. If I'm not mistaken that was my first time there and met all my in-laws. Then on Christmas my wife and I were in Vegas. New Years Eve I'm at home and took a pic with my nephew who started living with us so he could go college here. We looked all dressed up, but can't remember where we went or what we did. Good times.
