What Was Your First Thought Seeing This Moment Live?

Right. It’s the kind a wrinkle most guys see for the first time when their on the prelims. When it’s an adjustment you need to make in a title fight, forget it. It’s miraculous that Brock didn’t get owned more honestly. Leglock was the only other example of getting exposed for lack of skills/knowledge (I think Reem just got him, maybe or maybe not because of illness)

it's funny because Brock cut Reem in that fight with an open hand slap. nobody ever talks about that though.

lol I honestly have zero memory of that. Might need to watch some Brock fights tonight
that's how he has around his eye here.

I knew it was coming. I thought for sure Carwin was going to smash Brock. And any other Ref would have stopped that fight, but Brock was lucky Carwin gassed himself out trying to finish him. It was only a matter of time till Cain finished the job.

I was hoping for a double ko
Doesn't sit right with me that a fighter can blatantly have brown pride tattooed on his chest, while if Lesnar for example had "white pride" on his chest he'd be "cancelled" and probably never would get to that stage.
Doesn't mean I hate Cain or anything, I get the tattoos meaning.
I just hate the double standards in our culture and wanted to see him fail because of the fake Mexican champ narrative.

I was the only one in a room of people rooting for Cain. Couldn't help but laugh.

Granted we were all friends so they all high fived me telling me I called it.

Honestly I thought Brock was going to beat the shit out of him

I watched it on a business trip on laptop in a hotel in NYC with my co-worker asleep in the room. I was yelling on the inside, because I was wanting Cain to annihilate Brock.

That’s the beautiful thing about being a fight fan.. brings back the memories of where and what you were doing at the time.

Brock jumped into the deep end of the pool with little MMA training and did well. No BMF belts, no cupcake fights. Right in with the sharks. He is easy to hate but an honest look at what he did generates repect

I don’t disagree about the tattoo but I try to judge people based on the time they took their actions. It didn’t seem like a shitty thing at the time, he was an American guy with Mexican roots who wanted to recognize his heritage.

Think about when the term “pride” is used. “Gay pride” didn’t mean “I’m proud of my impressive accomplishment of being gay.” It meant “I’m gay and I’m not ashamed of it,” or “gay people have and deserve to have dignity too and shouldn’t feel second rate.”

When viewed in that context I think it makes more sense.

When Brock took Cain down and couldn’t keep him down, I was like uh oh. Then it just kept getting worse for him, prime Cain was a scary dude who’s time was cut short from his many injuries.

I remember the moment clearly. I was in a bar in Chicago and that place was lit during this fight. Everyone in there screaming excited. I won $150 bucks that night betting on Cain to win.

such short supply that they both became UFC champions huh?
<LikeReally5>
You don't actually think holding a belt alone means they have a lot of skill, do you? That would be a pretty noobish belief. Lots of champs that were opportunistic

the only noobish belief is you acting like you can just trip and fall into a UFC title. opportunistic doesn't mean they lack skill, are you high?
