What was the best performance in UFC history?

Anderson Forrest Griffin duh.

It was against Forest Griffin though...

But then again, I included Penn vs. Sanchez, so maybe :)

Conor - Aldo

Machida - Evans

Silva - Leben

All pretty much as clean a victory as you can get.

Its clean sure, but for me Conor vs. Aldo is not a convincing victory, it was a 13 second fight with a couple of punches landed.

I'm not saying its fluke or anything so pls don't come back all triggered and heated up lol.

TJ's beatings on Barao were some of the best performances ever. Would like to see him replicate those performances though Cody is a monster himself.

After I first started watching MMA in 2012, those were the finest performances I have seen inside the octagon.

Then I went back to watching some other old school UFC and PRIDE fights, but those Barao fights are still clearly top10 for me.

Aldo in the WEC was also something to behold. The Mike Brown fight and the Urijah fight in particular.

I don't think you can ask for a better performance, really. Aldo was a huge name to scalp and to do it in 13 seconds with the first punch and taking virtually no damage, that to me is a great performance. This is also a great example of getting inside a fighter's head before the fight, Aldo was clearly gotten to and frustrated by Conor, which made him fight reckless and emotional, and I think it played a big part in him losing like that.

And I'm not a Conor fan or the typical shertard, I'm not going to get mad at someone simply disagreeing with me in a normal manner.

Good to hear :) I always respect other opinions

Hard to beat Jones storming throug Shogun. That was a flawless performance, for the belt, by the guy who would become the GOAT.

The performance itself is up there. The opponent, not so much imo.

haha I knew that would be your reasoning. Y'all really don't know who Eddie Alvarez is do you?!

I thought it was strictly based on performance, not opponent. Performance for performance there's no way Rory over Tyron is better than Conor over Eddie.

Absolutely.

And I mean, you can make a case for a lot of those fights I mentioned in my top10 for being #1 actually. Jones Shogun is one of those fights

I'm talking about single fight performances, based on who they beat, how they beat, and how convincing it was.

Sadly, its McG vs Aldo. 10 year undefeated champ losing like that to to a largely unproven fighter is just unconscionable. There is always going to be some luck involved, but that was just ridiculous.

Its against a great opponent, and it was a great performance, it just wasn't convincing for me.

But if it convinced you, then it should absolutely be top 3 in your list lol

Solid list.

Thanks. I thought I would get some flak like "Why didn't you rank this performance #3 instead of #4??????" etc... but I mean most of those fights are already deserving of the top spot anyway.

Nate Diaz vs Michael Johnson
Leben vs Wand
Anderson vs Franklin
Forrest vs Rampage
