What was Steve Jennum's ceiling?

He didn't have the makings of a varsity athlete

Is he the one that brutally KO’d by Brad Kohler with a very telegraphed (albeit powerful) right? One of the first one hitter quitter KO’s in the UFC.

No. That was Steve Judson.

Could he have been an all-time great?

Or a bust?

....

Could have been the face of Toyo Tires

the timing wasn’t right. But he could’ve been as entertaining as heath herring, for example. He could’ve even been an early Chris Lytle. Not a world beater, but still skilled enough to put in a damn good show. Jennum was a natural fighter. He would’ve been very entertaining if he stuck with it. But there’s wasn’t enough money in it back then. Also, too old.

UFC 3 tournament champion!!! Got some luck with others getting injured… He did ok… Steve Jennum did ok in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The Harold Howard Canadian Train was a proud moment for us.

I remember him taking shit for winning it as an alternate but it's been years since I've seen this fight and damn if he doesn't look pretty great for his time. Moves well, nice leg trip takedown, knew to pass to side control on opposite side to escape the guillotine. Vast majority of guys back then wouldn't have known that.
