What vitamin or supplements actually worked for you?

I worked out for about a year and a half for very little gain. I then started taking a protein powder.
Stacked on heaps of muscle quickly and got asked more than a few times if i was doing roids.

Multivitamins reduce how often i get sick.

A fish oil with high DHA makes me smarter and have more concentration. Going to start taking them again actually.

Where’d you find the powdered horse meat?

Nightly ZMA definitely improves the quality of my sleep.

I dunno if it's placebo effect or if I'm benefiting from any of it's other claimed effects, but improved sleep is certainly worth the price of a cheap-ass supplement.

What brand of NAC do you take? I suggest taking NAC some vitamin C like an orange or kiwi.

NAC really works, they give that to patients with acute liver damage form Tylenol overdose and it helps clear up the lungs, people who drink take NAC as well for some reason they say it helps fight hangovers.
I go to nootropicsdepot.com pretty reliable and you can buy in bulk.

I also have a shitload of bacopa and some alpha-gpc.
I also have a bit of aniracetam and oxyracetam from the same site but I don’t drink it anymore

Good thread.

So which supplements actually have research to back their claims? I know fish oils do but for the others that are taking something regularly is there research to support your claims ??

Most supplements dont work or benefit some people but other not.
the ones that showed benefit for me are:

Creatine
magnesium
zinc
fish oil
quality probiotics
vitamin c and d

Multivitamin
Greens supplement
Probiotics

Used to take Centrum multivitamins and thought I could tell a difference in how I felt. Not sure though.

Multi vitamin
Zinc/magnesium
Fish oil
B complex

Need to reorder arginine and get back on creatine.

Love threads like these.

I get great ideas from my sherbros (arginine is one.)

Host defence cordyceps give me a good boost in the gym.

Whey Protein
Fish Oil
Multivitamin

These three are non-negotiable to me.

Whey Protein: This is pretty self-explanatory.

Fish Oil: Family has a history of heart problems so I take it just in case. It's super cheap and it couldn't hurt. Probably better off taking it than not.

Multivitamin: 100% makes a difference in my experience. My diet used to be horrible for years. Basically just rice and meat. I used to get random cramps on my chest, calf, and foot. Even when laying in bed doing nothing. Decided to give multivitamins a try and, like magic, no more random cramps. I was probably lacking potassium and other nutrients in my shitty diet. Multivitamin filled that gap. I also noticed that I got sick less frequently. And when I did get sick, I noticed that the cold didn't last as long as before (a few days vs. a few weeks). My diet is well-balanced now but I still take a multi once a day just in case.

Vitamin D3, cod liver oil, K2 and ZMA were the ones which really worked for me. Noticed a considerable difference on them in terms of mood, energy, muscle, strength, etc.

Whey is hands down the only worthy staple of any bodybuilder or athlete, you dont need creatine or aminos, just Whey.

Fish oil I heard it can enlarge prostates in men.

You don't need creatine, but it's one of the few supplements with a solid body of evidence behind it that it actually works, and it's pretty cheap. Why not?
