What to do at the Grand Canyon?

Took an old girlfriend there years ago for a December weekend. Rented a cabin but we didn't really step out to explore much before leaving. Was too busy having epic amounts of sex.

Great weekend tho. Watch out for giant elk near the roads, nearly hit two of them.

Usually snow in the winter.
Park's site states the North Rim is currently closed.
South Rim is open; however, be sure to check the status before going, some of the trails could be closed because of weather conditions.

Updated: Saturday, December 26, 2015 - 1:15 pm (Updated when road conditions change)
As of this update, South Rim roads are open but are snow-packed and icy in places. Please use extra caution. Park roads can close with little notice, particularly in the evenings, as refreezing snow melt creates black ice.

There are some maintained trails along the rim, bring water.

The viewing areas have railings and fences in an effort to prevent people from pulling "Hey watch this" stunts and to stop runaway wheelchairs from plummeting to the canyon bottom.

The Park's visitor center has a couple of films about the Grand Canyon and there is also a museum on the South Rim.

I don't think they have guided hikes during the winter but you might be able to do a bike tour.

Haven't spent much time in Flagstaff but it seemed like there were quite a few bars. As for hitting up bars with more college aged people, NAU is a semester school so if you are going in the next week or so, the college bars could be sparse.
