What to do at the Grand Canyon?

When I was little we did a tour on horseback.

There are a few parking areas with trails allow the edge and you can walk down into it if you want, quite a few old lodges in the main area that are quite interesting if you like that kind of thing. The main cost would be a motel and food.

Personally I would say if you like landscape though there are better national parks in the area like Zion and Bryce, Page is nice as well with the big bend or the Colorado(free) and the slot Canyons(not free), motels are cheaper as well.

Years ago when I was in Vegas, I did the helicopter tour.

It took you over Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam then right into the bottom of the canyon.

We had wine and snacks down there. We were allowed to walk around with warnings of tarantulas, rattle snakes and scorpions.

Also hit the skywalk after that. Then on the way back, it flies you over the Vegas strip

All within 4 hours. The drive to the canyon from Vegas was something ridiculous so a copter tour is the way to go

One thing I found fun when I was there was watching the ravens tear open campers' big plastic containers of food they thought would be raven-proof. Then they would destroy the campsite looking for more. The park has signs everywhere telling campers to keep their food in the car.

strap up a GoPro and jump in that bitch.

Edit: *Bungee

Its pretty cool, but gets old really quick. Its been a long time but I remember hiking a while until you hit a sign that says not to go farther without sufficient water, but there are warnings throughout.

NAU is in flagstaff, but there really isnt a lot around it save for run of the mill chain restaurants and fast food joints. There is a mall about 15 minutes from NAU, and downtown there are a lot of hipster coffee shops and overpriced faux spiritual nonsense. An hour south is Sedona which is really pretty, but filled with old, rich hippie spiritual bullshit. Around an hour or so north of flag is a ski resort called snow bowl.

Google is your friend. There is a university in flagstaff so I bet there's a few. I remember there is a brewery we went to after doing a week long trip in the canyon.

Always better hearing it from insiders than a web search.

So in other words, Flagstaff sucks for people in their 20s.

Well there are a few small clubs and music venues, they fill up with college kids on the weekends and it can be fun if thats your thing. Hipsters would love it, or people who want to buy 150$ quartz crystal necklaces or fake native american decorations. If youre not in school there its mostly just a rest stop for going somewhere else.

Any recommendations for cool bars or shit to do in a day at Flagstaff?

I don't know Flag that well, but my good friend does. I've just texted him and I'll reply with his answer later.

edit: "Lumberyard brewing company, the hotel Montevista bar and Charlie's are fun bars. Collins pub gets totally hopping too."

Thanks for the help bros.

And i'm not jumping. Although I may take a piss over the edge.

Haven't been there personally but I would think looking around would be the way to go.

Full camelback and go hike down to the bottom and then back up. Will be an all day thing though. We camped and took the dogs. Good photos.
