Should they strip Aspinall?

Make an interim HW belt?

What should the UFC do?

Feel free to suggest options. I'll add if necessary.

Strip everyone and start all over again.

No fucking interims. No fucking BMF. A singular division. No pound for pound. Who cares?

Just fat heavyweights beating up shredded dwarfs. Ultimate fighting how it was meant to be.

Schedule a Title Fight within 60 days of the last Title Fight -- if Tom can't sign then he keeps his Interim Belt until the next Title Fight Commences, whether a Winner is declared or not.

Fouler Gane only gets signed to a Title Fight if he fights Tom in a rematch. Otherwise, Gane takes another Contender Fight in the shadow of the next Title Fight.

Can't Fight, Won't Fight -- irrelevant in distinction to the Sport and Fans.

Keep the fighters fighting.

UFC should have given Aspinall the win via DQ. A Gane rematch is dumb. Gane needs to prove he can fight clean with lower ranked competition before facing Aspinall again.

Gane was winning the fight, fans want to see this get settled. They need to fight again.

It would be different if he was clearly losing and then eyepoked, then I would agree he can go back in line & fight somebody else.

You can't judge a matchup in a couple of minutes where the 'winning' fighter is spamming eyepokes. The eyepoke which ended the fight was one of many and the ref can be heard warning Gane multiple times. Add to that Gane's lowlight reel of back of the head shots and you have a serial cheater who doesn't deserve another shot until he can prove to obey the rules with lower ranked opponents for now

The more that comes out about the eye injury, its looking more and more likely Tom will be out for a long while. If he does have to have surgery, its a serious lay off.

Tom's luck or lack of it needs to be studied to be honest.

First the 15 month lay off due to Jonnys ducking antics and now this.

Im still hoping the Gane rematch happens in the next few months but hes not even training atm, and if surgery is needed, there is no chance of that happening anyime soon.

It depends on Tom's recovery. If he's gonna be out for more than a few months, interim. If he's gonna be out for more than a year, strip him. However, they set a precedent with Jones' reign that the champ can just sort of chill for a couple of years without them doing much.
