What makes you proud of being American?

Our humility.

The way we are economic so that we don't waste food and other resources when there are so many people in the world in need.

Our upstanding presidential candidates.

That we always think of diplomacy before we enter nations with our military.

Shouldn't it be 'What makes you proud to be an American?' and not of being? So the standard of English probably won't be mentioned in this thread.

This country has given me more than my fair share of opportunities. From those I have gained a decent amount of success (IMO) in my own life. I am proud that those who came before me made this possible, and if it came down to it would fight anyone trying to take this away from us.

Nothing much. I was born here, it wasn't my choice, could just as easily been born in Syria or France or the middle of Siberia.

I'd happily live in a number of countries across the globe, many I've been to are better than America at least for me.

I guess I'd say sports if I had to pick something, thank god I was raised watching Basketball and Football rather than fucking soccer lol.

People who complain about living here , have never lived through or seen real poverty . I went through some shitty natural disasters growing up , also saw little kids on streets selling stolen cigarettes for fucking nickels or dimes and have also buried good people in faraway lands. I love it here , I love my family I live comfortably and am in a position to improve my quality of life even more.
 
the fact that we aren't going to elect donald trump is currently making me feel proud...and i think i'll feel very proud on the 8th.
