What laxative/fiber supplement to take?

    I have a weigh-in on friday night. I'd like to know what laxative/fiber supplement to take thursday night, and what dosage. Should I take like 3 times the normal dose of ****mucil? I just threw that number out there, but I want to make sure that when I go I GO! I also don't want to be on the can all day either. I should be close to my weight goal, so I don't need anything too drastic. Thanks guys

    No DO NOT TAKE 3x the DOSE of M etamucil... It can bind up your whole digestive tract and caus eyou serious problems. From what I gather after talking to my Dr. About it is turn into a cementish substance in your bowels especially if you're not drinking enough water.

    You can cause serious bodily harm if you don't take that the right way.

    Also I know it says laxative on the label but that's not really the case. The only time I've heard of it used as a laxative is when it's taken with ainsane amounts of water. I take a lot of M etamucil because I need to due to having IBS but I've been taking it for over a year and my body is used to it and I know how much water to mix it with and drink to ensure I don't get bound up and sick.

    If you need a laxitive for weight loss for weigh in's ..- I would never reccomend doing this but then again I'm not a pro fighter. Phospo-Soda is a laxitive You drink a little bit and crap for 45 mins straight and you're good. Just remember you'll need to replenish your electrolytes after doing something like this. I'm by no means an expert and the other people in the forum might be better to advise you but this is my little 2 cents.

    ****mucil turns your turds into rocks at the normal dosage. As the guy above mentioned, if you overdo it, you'll probably wind up with a log jam inside your intestines.

    So, no gentle laxatives out there to help me give birth a 5 pound baby boy on Friday?

    Sweat the weight out like a man. If you plan on using laxatives make sure you don't wear any white during the fight. You will shit yourself, I have seen it.

    Well, my thinking was that if I take a big one and lose enough to make weight, I could start eating some carbs throughout the day. But if I need I will go to a sauna on Friday. I weighed 175-179 yesterday while consuming two gallons of water. 170 should not be a prob.

    You should have been taking Physilium Husk or however you spell that for the past week. I use the off brand of Musil, I take about a tablespoon a couple hours before bed I wake up and drop a duece. Simple as that

    I say that about the husk because it will just help you rid yourself of all excess waist in your body and you will know exactly how much you weigh. So then when you go to weigh in you will have empty bowls

    I would say so. I tend to notice the effects around the 24-36 hour mark.

    the last time i fought i used fibresure to help cut the weight. every meal i ate cruciferous veggies and a lean protien source and was still able to drop some pretty good deuce's. the time before that i had the same diet and had a hard time taking dumps. take a teaspoon 2- 3 times daily till your weigh in

    while in training you should consider adding psyllium husk and bentonite clay to your protein shakes... you will be going so much, you wont have to worry about getting rid of OLD CRAP in your system.

    Well for this one I should be golden to make the weigh in. I think I follow all the tips I could make 165, but this is my first time ever doing this. I weighed 171.5 before going to sleep, but have not weighed myself today. I have not consumed any water and only two hard boiled eggs today. I'm hoping to be at 167 after I do a little bit of grappling today. That why I can start drinking a little bit of pedialyte and protein powder along with electrolytes.

    I fyou were 171.5 before bed and have watched your water intake, you should be golden for 167. Probably all ready there. I normally lose 2-3 lbs during sleep with no water.

    Sweat it out it your best bet but the issue is you have to give yourself at least a week to cut next time. Better to have two weeks.
