What is the democratic message?

All parties need a clear message that's attractive. I'm independent. But have to admit Republicans seem to have a better message for the masses. The American dream, freedoms, etc...

Democrats seem to always seem to be very negative: the system is rigged, racism.

Democrats need a better message. What do you think?

They HAD one years ago but their corporate donors don't approve so now its just, "we are not as bad as.them."

Lately, and I say this as a centrist who usually votes dem...

Absolutely fucking nothing....

The left can say whatever they want but there neglect then attack on middle class white Americans blew up in there face.

Cut the identity bullshit and ...

Focus on infrastructure,affordable healthcare,affordable housing,affordable college...you know,middle class issues.

Might surprise some people but we aren’t all 3rd world refugees /chicks with dicks and self deprecating white people.

Straight from their site ..

"Democrats believe that we're greater together than we are on our own—that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules. Our party is focused on building an economy that lifts up all Americans, not just those at the top.

That's why Democrats are working to make progress on issues like job creation, equal pay, education, health care, and clean energy."
yeah, campaign buzzwords are awesome in text,a little harder to stomach when nothing of the sort comes to fruition..look at my own state for example. Great fucking place if your a millionaire who likes having lattes with sociology majors but not so great when your a middle class blue collar worker just trying to carve out a little piece of a pie.

Sad part is I could never get behind what the republicans are dishing right now..it’s a race to the bottom.

It seems to be something along the lines of ban guns, raise taxes, open the border, censor speech, bring in muslims, kill babies, and fuck the flag. Oh and a new cold war with Russia.

Lol, thank God Trump won.

A huge number of things come to mind- and only listing things where there is a fundamental disagreement w/Republicans-

Healthcare should be treated as a human right, workers from the lower-to-middle-class should make a larger share, we should stop redistributing wealth upward, gay/trans people should have the same rights as everyone else, racism and other forms of bigotry should continue to be eliminated, foreign countries should not be allowed to interfere with our democracy, abortion is a healthcare issue and women should have more control of their bodies, people should be allowed to vote no matter what race they are, we should base our environmental policy on scientific knowledge, etc etc etc
See no one even republicans (normal ones at least) would disagree with most of this list...

The problem isn’t the agenda it’s the implementation

Everyone treated equal= overlooking cultural flaws(example: sharia and hood mentality)
Free handouts to immigrants and low income while the working class not only pays for it but isn’t prevy to any of the benefits. I’m white, midddle class fuck me right?!
Affordable healthcare =congress unanimously voting to make illegal prescriptions purchases across borders for cheaper medicine.
Infrastructure =bloated mis managed construction projects with no bid contracts getting a cut (I know I’m a union contractor).
Cali is a sesspool outside of high dollar 1percent areas, the dems don’t practice what the preach.

Environmental agenda is the only thing I’ve seen the dems act with integrity on. They’re for it and fight for it.

The rest is just talk out the side of there mouth.

Currently they're the ones working tirelessly to pull the horse within the gates, and their message more or less revolves around achieving that goal - intentionally or not.

Republican leaders behave like sheep. They blow with every wind. But they typically have a shepherd who is adept at leading them.

Democratic leaders are like cats. Smarter than sheep, but hard to form coalition with.
Cats also have parasites that mind control you into liking them so there's that.

Everything we don’t agree with is racist and if it was our idea you’re twice as racist for pointing that out

If I was a Dem party boss in 2018/2020, my platform would be four words: UNIVERSAL MOTHER FUCKING HEALTHCARE

Beyond that:
- Renewable energy
- Affordable education
- Net neutrality
- Decriminalizing marijuana
- TREATMENT of the opioid epidemic
- Wall Street regulation
- Judiciary support of labor/ unions
- International engagement
- Fact based discourse

Everything we don’t agree with is racist and if it was our idea you’re twice as racist for pointing that out
Those groups with more social power based on victim status in the West are still victims and need even more social advantages to make up for what others do to make themselves successful.

This is the right wing parody of the Democratic Party, sure.

Bernie had an excellent message. Healthcare, education, and Jobs.
I mean you could argue against how possibly it would be to implement them.
But Trump has the same issues. With his Healthcare, education, and Opium epidemic message.

I don't think Bernie run an anti gun, pro immigration, Hillary style identity politics message.
He definitly had a working class campaign.

I don't know what the democratic message is but the democracy is messed up, Thank God we have Jennifer Lawrence taking a year off acting to fix our democracy, ......

ahoy Cuaseimbetta,

the Democratic message is probably going to be same one they used at the end of GWB's time in office; "look at what these guys did. vote for us, because we are not them".

what the Democrats probably won't have is a once in a lifetime candidate like Mr. Obama to carry the flag for them.

Because Putin showing the world a cartoon of them nuking Florida is on the democrats.

Also, shouldn't we be alittle more open to some population control these days?

Democrats made it clear, they represent blm, lgbq, antifa, Muslims and illegals.

The rest of you are bad

I've always tried to see it as "we're all in this together." A fair bit gets lost in translation, but that's because most politicians are crooked slimeballs. Nature of the game.

How does Trump advocating for the government to steal citizens' guns without due process fit into this message of freedom the Republicans are supposed to stand for?

Trump was the one pushing the "rigged" democracy angle, and he used identity politics as much as anybody ever has to get elected.
