What is the deal with Mike Jackson & how is he getting another shot?

Yeah but they dont leave the league so your wrong.
They do in soccer. And you’ve had plenty of aging stars who were still nba caliber who ended their careers in Europe / Asia, or simply left the league. Being NBA caliber doesn’t mean you’ll agree to play for whatever the team thinks your worth or that a team thinks you fit into their long term plans.

Well i said it before but you seem to have problem understanding. They still play each other in nationals teams and international chanpionships. Instead of chiming in you could have answered me. Players get sorted out once they decline not while bringing in the numbers, numbers as in scores/points not money. In basket ball there is zero reason to leave the NBA, you can make a ok living in few places but nothing like the guaranteed money they get in the nba.

National teams don’t validate your position that the league itself is a sport, since your position was that if you don’t have all the best players its not a sport.

Of course guys leave the league when they are still capable of putting up numbers. Again, aging stars have retired or played overseas.

Look, I don’t believe any of this means the nba or soccer aren’t sports. But I also don’t think mma isn’t a sport.

The League is not the sport but the whole. Like in Soccer its Fifa. You cant just take out a Ligue which is just a part of something and call it the whole thing. Even lets say i give you National teams are something else. Teams still play internationally against other clubs. Theres a League for the best teams and even for the worse teams like ranked 3~8 depending on the league, those clubs play each orher internationally. Dont talk about things you dont seem to know. Im still waiting for you to name those players who are great but dont play in the NBA. Aging stars in soccer leave for a different club they dont go somewhere that is not connected to the rest.
I know you think its a sport i have no trouble reading what you wrote but you on the other hand cant or are not willing to, as you pick out the things you can answer while ignoring the rest. MMA is not a sport to me, in a sport the best play the best and rankings are done on merit. Theres a logic behind it. If Lebron doesnt make the playoffs with the lakers you think they are give him a shot because hes a big name? Nope would never happen. Price fighting is not a sport to me and i have yet to hear a good argument against that statement.

It would be hilarious if Mike Jackson finishes Dean Barry. He could even wind up with a new contract.

"Everybody is talking about Mike Jackson and if his win over the former champion was a fluke" -Joe Rogan
"That's the fucking guy" - Joey Diaz
"Kids a fucking idiot...."- Dana White
Thread after thread- Sherdog
I ting he is the real deal- Conor Mcregor

Can’t seem to find any back story to this guy.
Somehow debuts in the UFC losing within a minute to Mickey Gall, then beats CM Punk in embarrassing fashion, Dana White slates him, calling him a fucking idiot.

Yet he is back in action versus Dean Barry (3-1) on Fight Island in a months time.

What is the deal here? Just seems like preposterous match making, is there more to Mike Jackson than meets the eye?

probably has a 3 fight deal and he’s only had one fight. So he has two more fights left to fulfill. Pretty simple

The UFC owes him a fight, and may as well let him be cannon fodder then pay him for the release.

Seemed odd Dana was critical of him in his bout with CM Punk, since he intentionally hired a guy with no experience. If you recruit and older guy with a professional MMA record of 0-0-0 to put together a sham fight with a professional wrestler, what exactly do you expect to happen?

I'd rather Jackson get offered a buyout then take a fight, since he's likely to get hurt. He is not a UFC caliber fighter and doesn't belong in there. Honestly in any sane jurisdiction this would not be sanctioned.

The UFC is bush league is so many ways its mind blowing.

Cause he's bad!

He's one of the only two guys to have defeated CM Punk in MMA. He's legit.

Jackson has a fucking chin on him. I can't imagine many Welterweights taking this shot
