33 years old for some can mean you are still in your prime, UNLESS you've had some of the best bloody wars in over 40 fights. Sometimes the body just decides for you its time to hang them up.

I feel personally he should retire but IF Joe wants to have one more fight, I would put him up against BJ Penn who says he wants to fight again.

Joe Lauzon, your thoughts?

He just got ravaged by an unranked dude that I've never heard of before, then had to be saved by his own corner. It's time to retire after an awesome career full of insane fights.

Nothing left to prove, has a career in IT to support his family. Why take another beating?

I think it's obvious at this point , he needs to retire.

retirement hopefully, that was painful to watch

When you go out on your stool then it's usually time to hang it up. Joe is chasing just one more W to end on and it's not clear he can get that anymore. There's no dishonour it leaving it at that. I think his corner did him a solid by throwing in the towel, even if most of the meat heads on here think it's the ultimate bitch move. They care about his health and could see he had nothing left to give.

Joe is a smart guy, I hope he continues as an analyst and offers his wisdom to the sport. He's bright, technical, articulate and has a ton of other qualities to bring to the table. The guy knows how to grapple and he can break down fights very well.

EDIT: I agree with the posts about handing him an analyst job with Fox.

He lost BIG time to a guy who lost to Lobov in TUF I think.

I love Lauzon but he is about to start yelling at clouds if he doesnt stop.

He still is coherent and is actually a pretty smart guy. He should retire. He will get a nice job as an analyst or something like that but I think he's just one of those guys that is going to keep fighting way longer than he should.

I wouldn't want to tell a professional fighter what to do, but judging by his recent bouts, he should retire. He's an intelligent fellow and he could use his mind instead of his body from this point on.

Retirement. Against Sanchez, so they both retire. Maybe B.J.

I like the guy a lot but might be time to retire and run the gym and coach full time.

I hate to say it, but I absolutely agree. Joe's a great guy, always classy, always fun to watch, but I don't know if there's anyone who's taken as much damage over their UFC career as he has. I don't want to see him stuttering and mumbling ten years down the road.

Let him beat the shit out of Artem end his career ,then hang them up so he bc an go out on a W
