What is Harrison Ford's most iconic role?

The weird dad that somewhat ruins the movie cowboys and aliens.

Indy and Han are his most iconic roles (and they are close to being the same character), but my favourite Harrison role was always frantic. It has both his comedic talent but mostly that relentless intensity and charisma that used to make Harrison opening a drawer in an empty hotel room must see tv. The girl was super hot as well. Maybe Polanski's most underrated film.

I never saw the original Star Wars or Indiana Jones. To me he's the president who single handedly fought Russian terrorists off his plane.

That’s a tough one, but I’ll say Han Solo even though he was THE character in Indiana Jones...I would say of any main character in the original Star Wars, that was their most iconic role, due to the pop culture significance of Star Wars...
Thank you for taking the time to type what I was thinking.

It's gotta be Han Solo. But tbh it's kind of amazing this is even up for debate. The dude has had some of the most amazing roles. Definitely my favorite actor ever.

Indiana Jones without question for me. I'm a big Star Wars nerd (well, I was until Disney took over) and I still say Indiana Jones. Star Wars was great but Han doesn't have a whole lot of screen time. Luke (and really the Force) is the big star of those movies, and everybody else takes a back seat and that includes Han. Han misses out on the entire 3rd act of Empire, and the entire first act of Jedi. Indiana Jones, on the other hand, is the big star of those movies and he is an awesome dude...Professor, adventurer, philanthropist, archaeologist, and all around bad-ass. We know so much about Dr. Jones but we know so little about Han Solo.

Either way, as others have mentioned, it's pretty cool that he has done so many iconic roles that we can actually have this discussion about which of them is the most iconic. Mind you I'll end on this : his last 2 appearances in those iconic roles have been terrible and I generally pretend they don't exist.

I mean as a cultural phenomenon Star Wars far outweighs Indiana Jones. Han was a major part in that, but part of a collective at the same time. Whilst IJ is all about him the franchise as a whole just doesn’t have quite the same iconic status, imo.

Either way, very rare one actor has 2 genuinely iconic franchise roles like Ford. Only other guy I can think of is Stallone in Rocky and Rambo.

To think Lucas wanted Tom Selleck in the role, and only cast Ford as a last resort.

Indiana Jones or Hans Solo -- obviously. I would say that John Book in Witness was as close to his real life personality as it gets though.

LOL I remember getting an erection to this scene and not knowing what the hell was going on as a wee one.

I'd say Solo or Indiana Jones, they're kind of similar characters anyway, the charming rogue type character.
For best role though, I'll say either The Fugitive or Blade Runner. Both those movies are awesome and are Ford's best work IMO (though tbh I've not watched any of the Indiana Jones movies, but those two I mentioned are a bit more serious and more to my taste).
