Just want to know what fellow Sherdogers think about it...
I think that the UFC left a big hole for FS and Viacom van gain some money from this....
Would lile to watch Bellator on FS

They own the channel they broadcast on.......they don't need a tv deal.

There's a possibility, yet Bellator is broadcast in Paramount Network.

Both Bellator and Paramount Network are owned by Viacom.

I was thinking about this exact topic this morning actually. Fox Sports is in dire need of MMA now that UFC signed the ESPN deal. Bellator being the second largest org would be a great addition to Fox Sports for both Fox and Bellator. However, the problem is that Viacom owns Bellator, and they will not allow their own product to be broadcast on an outside network for the amount that Fox would be willing to pay for Bellator. I have a feeling Viacom is too selfish to engage in such a deal, unless they could simultaneously broadcast the fights on Paramount.

On a side note, this opens up a door for OneFC to make its way into the US market. Both OneFC and Fox sports could benefit from a deal. I think Pro Fight League is already locked in with NBC, so there is no opportunity there.

Viacom should do a deal with fox to air like their 4 best cards on fox, instead of going the ppv route which didn't work. I understand when ppl say Viacom owns bellator and wants it on their stations but companies make partnerships and deals all the time.

Unless Viacom decides to ditch Bellator/MMA, it's not going on Fox.

Fox seems to be content with wrassling. They signed a $200 million/yr deal. Somehow over 2 million people watch it on TV.

Because it's the real fighting not like the UFC with all the fake trash talking and ducking opponents

It's been reported that Smackdown will be broadcast on Fox, not FS1, so there's still a gaping programming hole for FS1 to fill after UFC's departure.

This is nonsense. Viacom owns Bellator. They would be idiots to sell away the tv rights to another network when they could use the live sporting events on their many networks. Plus FOX would probably offer like $20 million a year.

ONE FC is another ridiculous theory as well. Who in their right mind would pay millions of dollars to broadcast a promotion that has events at like 7 AM eastern time in the United States? Plus nobody even knows what One FC is. Unless they get it for extremely cheap, it makes no sense.

Fox is probably content with WWE. There’s a lot of weirdos who watch that stuff.

Good point. Does ONE even have a TV deal in the USA?

They could get it done, they have deals with both Fox AND ESPN in Asia.

No, they do not. We had to rely on ippv, which was limited to only the live broadcast, then nothing for a few months, and now the app, which is okay, but you have to watch the event live.

They stream on their app through YouTube, and therefore the event is still on YouTube even though it's not on the ONE youtube channel.
Maybe they are only meant to be viewed Live? But I saved the link so it's still there. Not sure how it works to be honest.

E.g. Here's the last event :)

Jesus how can you not know Viacom owns Bellator. They are not going to be on Fox and Fox isn't buying a mma promotion

Also lofuckingl at onefc being on Fox. There's like 11 people in America who watch onefc

Could also be really kicking themselves for not buying zuffa and start their own league.... just how bad do they wanna be in the MMA biz

Theres like 11 people who watch ONE FC in the states because it’s not broadcast anywhere in the states. Did you miss that part? It’s called a market opportunity. Fox could get a deal for pennies, and One would have the ability to finally be broadcast in the US.

I think they know they are never catching ESPN, they might show it but the reason they signed WWE is because it does good ratings weekly on USA and will do the same on Fox, "big" Fox wants to show more live stuff (Sports, News, WWE, Certain reality shows) they feel are DVR proof and are in the middle of selling their entertainment companies to Disney.

CBS & Viacom are talking about merging again and they may see Showtime as a better fit, especially if certain Al Haymon PBC jump to Matchroom on the subscription app DAZN and they need more fighters.
