What I don't understand about Sean O'Malley

It blows my mind how many people here don't realize this.

We know from the class action that the UFC has been paying out a total of 18% of revenue on average to fighters - and that accounts for every single penny spent on purses, bonuses, travel, insurance and even the performance institute. They are getting pennies on the dollar in exchange for brain damage.

The UFC will wring O'Malley out like a used towel and toss him in the bin when they are done with him, just like they do with everyone else.

Fighters should only have one goal - make the most money possible with the least risk to their health. Their bosses have setup a lopsided system where fighters have no advocacy and they are keeping virtually all the money generated by the fighters.

Sean is smarter than he looks. All fighters should be aggressively advocating for better pay, the UFC is openly working against you from getting more of the money you generate. Fair play.

Somewhere down the line he probably realized that he can make a living by just being a celeb and going viral crushing cans, and that potentially getting demolished by the elite of his division could ruin those plans. Hence he doesnt think it makes sense for him to risk his reputation with the zoomers unless its for big money

Hes like the Ryan Garcia of MMA

There timestamped. The shot that put him down was a single leg into a double after Sean panic guillotined him. He then got mounted, turned his back before turtling up and quitting. The ref gave him the DQ win over absolutely nothing.

Ok my bad I just watched the whole fight. Only punches of note to the back of the head were in the first round. After that he just gassed, got his ass whooped, and quit. Not a good look for the fragile little pothead

He's probably just a Violent Slacker that wants to stay relevant by having the UFC stage and his Open Mic show -- whilst staying active as a fighter and not taking too much damage to his record or mind/body.

The best part about it was it was his opponents debut fight from Tapology. Sean's entire career is filled with easy match ups and quitting when it gets tough.
All respect for getting in the cage, but the guy has been fighting since 2013 and been in the UFC since 2016. He is a regional guy beating regional guys in the UFC.
He is beating people that are getting cut or are brought in juust to build guys like him up.

He just isn't UFC level. That's all. Nothing wrong with that but youu can only build someone up for so long in what is meant to be the biggest league in MMA.

Things got a bit real when he fought Vera who was his last step up and he got destroyed in 5 secs from the ground and put out. He fought for an ammy title back in the day and quit from the softest back of the head shot in history. It was better than Aljo acting at least Aljo actually took a big shot.

shot is at 30 secs.

About 1:23 shows him being carried out by two coaches...

He walked away from the Moutinho fight with more damage than Moutinho and lets not forget he popped for Peds. He has been in the UFC since 2016. Fight ranked guys or leave at this point.

Wow, thanks for sharing. I didn't see the hit to the back of the head. Whatever happened, it didn't seem like much and I agree, it did look like he was taking a flop for the win.

He takes a back of the head shot earlier in the fight, by doing similar from memory.
His opponent basically just gasses him and after the 2 big bridges in the 5th he is done.
He was giving up the Rear naked for the easy finish when he turned.
He got TKO'd by exhaustion, but joys of ammy fights.

It wasn't luck. If you know what to look for O'Malley broke. He got some strikes in and Vera wasn't really fazed and was starting to pressure O'Malley. O'Malley faked that injury as a way out and got KO for it with an elbow. He was trying to save face. That's why he was dancing the next day, he wasn't injured. You can see it in O'Malley's face, he started getting stressed and nervous the longer the fight went and him seeing how his strikes weren't having a real effect on Vera.

That's why he never tried rematching Vera even though he can and was given the opportunity to. This is also why he is challenging the lowest ranked fighter and also calling out non ranked fighters for his next fight. He isn't trying to fight top fighters because he doesn't feel like he's ready. If he was confident he would call out Vera for a rematch or someone else higher ranked. Yet he isn't, so that tells you everything you need to know.
I stopped reading after "he faked the injury". Get some fucking glasses.

If he's so comfortable with fighting lower/no ranked guys for money, then why even come to the UFC? Why not try to go to Bellator instead? They'll be happy to let you fight cans and pay you damn good too. Hell MVP made a career out of it. If he beats Paiva, do you think he's gonna try to step it up?
Why do you say “come to UFC like it’s yours”? But you say “go to Bellator”

The answer is your username.

I'm saying couldn't he had tried to go to Bellator instead of the UFC if he wanted to go that route. They would have fed him can after can and probably paid him more.

Bellator pays big to people who already have established value, not newcomers who have no track record. After his contract is over he will go after big money, wherever it is.

There is a massive potential in o malley because kids know him from stevewilldoit vids and from logan pauls podcast, if he somehow could become a champ he is going to be the biggest ppv draw in ufc

Because the UFC is a business, not a sport. If a guy can go viral and make a big enough name for himself fighting nobodies, Dana lets them jump the queue straight to a title fight and not have to take the true path of a fighter (risky fights all the way up the rankings and likely lose a few along the way). Case in point: people already trying to matchmake Khamzat vs Usman even though Khamzat hasn't beaten anybody.

Long story short: O'malley is trying to earn a title shot by taking quantity over quality, making a winstreak by crushing cans and gaining popularity, hoping that allows him to pass over the guys who will beat him in the division.

Doesn't seem like he wants a title shot at all. Doesn't care about being champ. If he can get paid the same or close to it without ever fighting for the title, that's cool to him.

I don't know about that. There's a reason why alot of guys who came up in bellator refuse to leave. It's not impossible to build your name up there. Wouldn't have took him long. And he wouldn't have had to risk fighting someone as good as chito.

He faked the injury lol. That's why he was dancing the next day to prove he isn't hurt or injured because he's dumb lol. He did faked the injury when he realized he wasn't going to beat Vera, he realized that in the first round and found a way out to try and save face. Him faking the injury actually got him KO with an elbow because his ground game isn't very good so he was open to strikes. Vera didn't care if he was faking an injury and went in for the kill.

If O'Malley really feels it was a fluke, he would call out Vera. He's turned down the rematch that's why it's never happened and he would rather call out non ranked fighters instead. Vera is ranked higher and just had a huge win. O'Malley doesn't want the smoke from Vera. It wasn't a fluke, O'Malley is just scared.

Fake or not, that shit was weak as fuck. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he wasn't faking because it doesn't make any sense to do that. He's just frail. That dancing video was pretty stupid tho lol. I seriously don't understand that dude.
