It's funny that China realizes the superiority of things like Western music, do more to preserve the works of Beethoven and Bach than any Western country. Music is just one manifestation of Western values but if it's any indication, Westernism will live on, even if is not carried on by the west. The USA went from being a leader in almost every area to being incredibly mediocre. Trump did a great job of tapping into this and a simple flight from LAX to Shanghai Airport will leave anyone saying "What the heck happened to our country?"

China is not preserving classical Western music because there is no need to preserve it, it is not lost or being lost in the West. Just because Chinese parents pressure their kids to play the piano or violin does not mean Western culture isn't listening to and practicing these compositions.

The US isn't mediocre, it still leads the way in technology. China needs to steal from the US to get ahead in defense or buy/enter into partnership with Western firms. This line of argument I have seen mentioned on Stormfront , and it is just nonsensical.

sidenote, i recently traveled to china and vietnam. practically everyone in hanoi speaks at least enough english to do business and more than half can hold a conversation

i was very surprised by this and when i asked about it. they said that if they want to make it big, they better be able to do business with americans so they would be stupid not to learn it.

when other foreigners came in, the vietnamese didnt even expect them to speak their language, they spoke to germans/swedes/indians/brazilians in english. at a restaurant there was an indian lady who didnt speak english and people kept commenting that she was dumb for not learning it

point of the story is that if poor as fuck people living off of $140-200 a month can learn english in case they may get an opportunity to do business with americans, there is no excuse for someone LIVING HERE to not learn it
