lol power slap are paying 2k/2k, imagine the purses, white would be a laughing stock.
Dana watches because he loves boxing but watches during his UFC events because he has bets down on the boxing matches cannot bet on his UFC fights.I mean he's been "caught" watching boxing because it is his competition of course. If Canelo loses he wants to know right away.
Even if he preferred it, it wouldn't explain why he would watch it at a UFC event. Those things aren't binary.
Actually Dana and the Fertitta brothers did train in BJJ in Las Vegas during the early days of UFC.As opposed to what? Dana doesn't know how to grapple.
Ah, the old show/win money pay structure. Getting slapped professionally for breadcrumbs doesn't sound too enticing. But getting paid only 2–4k? Now that's an even bigger slap in the face.lol power slap are paying 2k/2k, imagine the purses, white would be a laughing stock.
What happened with Stitch? This, Dana is a laughing stock in the Vegas boxing community.
Also no one trusts the way the UFC does business. You know that huge fallout with Stitch? Hes a regular around the gyms and everyone heard about it directly from his mouth.
I grew up in the US when press was something you could trust they were legally obligated to just state facts, now days all press in the USA is opinions the laws have changed we have Right wing news, liberals news all is just biased opinions. Laws have been changed this wouldn't even be a liability case. It would be simple for Showtime or Paramount to prove they stand behind their product. Just put out a statement saying that their rights and they are committed to ten more years of boxing. No their quietness says it all. Your burden of proof has no weight here as they have even protected themselves (though not really needed anymore) by saying they 'heard from source'.
https://heavy.com/sports/ufc/dana-white-strikes-deal/Dana White can create a decent Boxing Promotion but it would have to be for starting out boxers as I cannot see him paying as much as Al Haymon.
When he was gonna do it years ago he already had Claressa Shields convinced so it looked like he would just start with one boxer, but he stated that he wanted to do more than manage one boxer. As when Dana first moved to Vegas he managed boxers but said the competition was too cut throat and switched to managing MMA fighters like Tito & Chuck Liddell.
As UFC was failing at the time he ended up getting friends to buy it with him to manage.
Marie Eve Dicaire is 18-2 so article is probably wrong/old and still the old plan that was never done?https://heavy.com/sports/ufc/dana-white-strikes-deal/
Looks like the new plan for Zuffa Boxing is just the old plan. Claressa Shields seems to still want to be represented by Dana White.
White’s first foray into boxing would be an all-female card headlined by arguably the top draw in women’s boxing.
Shields (10-0, 2 KOs) is set to take on Marie-Eve Dicaire (17-0, 0 KOs) in a world title bout that will establish a three-belt unified champion in the women’s 154-pound division.
Journal de Montreal reports Zuffa would stream the card via UFC Fight Pass.
Shields vs. Dicaire would take place on December 11.
Thing is Dana's model of paying top fighters peanuts won't work in boxing. Where's his stable? I'm also not sure why he decided that now is the time to enter into the sport. The Saudis are in control. As long as they're around nobody else is calling the shots. Not unless another country with an even larger public investment fund enters boxing and starts throwing around even more money.Dana just ran the face offs at the boxing event in Ireland he paid for, looking like he is in. But how deeply and in what way has yet to be defined. He also said he worked with Frank Warren & Son George to get this event on Sky TV over there.
Yes Dana is cheap but if it is with Turki Alalshikh then money not the problem. Turki Alalshikh said he wants to work more with Dana, but in what way... it is more wait and see.Thing is Dana's model of paying top fighters peanuts won't work in boxing. Where's his stable? Right, but at the moment Dana has no boxers under contract to offer Turki any match-ups. No elite level boxers or marquee names. He has no stable. Turki also works with several other promotions, and has done so for longer, so Dana doesn't have an exclusive relationship with him.Yes Dana is cheap but if it is with Turki Alalshikh then money not the problem. Getting boxers is no problem for Dana, with tight relationships with Tom Loeffler and Freddie Roach. Top level fighters would come if Turki pays well. But Dana always says the boxing system is too broken so my guess is he would be in Turki plan of teams so far he signed Golden Boy, Top Rank, and already had Queensberry vs Matchroom. GB will face Boxxer .... How Dana could be involved in this I do not know.Right, but at the moment Dana has no boxers under contract to offer Turki any match-ups.
