It was very satisfying to see Romero being efficient with his energy, to explode at the right moment and uppercut Luke into dreamland.
But does anyone know what happened to him after the fight? The dude seemed unable to walk.
Was he injured during the fight? Climbing the fence after the KO?

first round. probably the kick to romero`s shin.

Probably happened in the fight, adrenaline dump afterwards and not able to walk.

Would be a bummer if he celebrated himself into injury, not impossible though.

Probably something to do with the dozens of low kicks that leg got cracked with.

The way he was moving during and after the fight, I think he hurt himself celebrating going up or down the cage.

Never mind. Just saw it was the leg kicks. I didn’t see round 1.

Posted this in a different thread. Something not adding up with the "broken leg", then being fine. He was limping at weigh ins. Time stamp.

He got kicked to the lower leg a few times. You can ignore those strikes while adrenaline is high, but as soon as it goes down you will be limping. I got hit like that myself today in sparring and I'm hobbling around like an 80-year old from just one kick, lol.

Oooh interesting. Not sure if he always goes down stairs like that but nice catch

Because I saw the rest of the fight where he was moving fine and then saw him limping after climbing the cage.

Yea I don't know. It's like wtf would he do that if he wasn't injured? Master class trolling maybe?

So you form opinions based off things you’ve never seen.
Okay

Okay
Because I based it off what I did see. And then when I read that he was hammered with leg kicks, I edited my post to reflect that.

Good find, missed that, now it seemed he had injury coming in, probably busted his knee or something
Now Rockhold would regret that he didn’t go full wrestling

Calm down, cat burglar.

Was wondering about that on Friday. At the time, thought it was his legs cramping up from dehydration.

How did the fight read? What was your opinion of other people’s opinion about the fight?

WOW, I saw the fight and those kicks are nasty.
If he was unable to walk properly after the fight, I can´t imagine the effect of those kicks.
Now, it must be awful for a fighter to land those nasty kicks and see that your adversary doesn´t even blink.
Kudos to Gay Jesus for overcoming the injury. At no point during the fight he let Luke see that the kicks were taking a toll.
