I think he was helping in Gus' camp but not training for a fight himself.

Why? He looked absolutely horrible in his debut. Maybe that's just me.

Mousasi tends to make guys look bad. He deserves at least another shot for the short notice fight.

Practically yes. He had no fights lined up and had to cut 26 pounds in just 3 days. Lots of guys have weeks to cut less than that and they still miss weight, Latifi was on point. He said that the cut exhausted him so much that he could barely move. Still, he fought against a killer and survived till a decision and even had that explosion in the end of the 3rd.
