Food/Drink What foods help with sleep?

Was having leg cramps every night, so ate some peanuts for magnesium and no cramps. The peanuts tasted good so ate way too much one day and almost immediately felt like a sandwich I ate wasn't going down the drain and feeling like to dangerous to try to sleep lying down. I later saw in internet certain magnesium causes stomach cramps and I think even a couple of days later that's probably what I have. Stomach discomfort, but not so much the urge to make #2, but the feeling like the urge might come at the wrong moment like on the road.

EDIT: Maybe two or three days after eating too many peanuts, stomach cramps seems to be gone. Didn't know this stomach discomfort probably from too much magnesium could linger for days.

I keep reading about beets and beet juice, but read it's just temporary via the nitrate/nitric gas expanding the blood vessels temporarily.
