Wouldn't a livable wage help people feel less poor? I mean there are numerous studies that have been done that openly show that wages are not keeping up with the cost of living. The left wants an actual increase in the minimum wage. The fact that the Federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour while some states are in the double digits is nonsense. Again, I think when people think left they think people like Sinema and Manchin which are not really left at all.

If only it were this simple. Also, being one of the top countries of incarcerated citizens per capita is not something you want to lead in. So are you okay with prisons being for profit? There are studies that show having corps run prisons is not a good idea, not to mention some of the sentences people got years ago for ridiculous offenses. That 3 strikes rule back in the 90's under Clinton, for example, was not the cure all some thought it would be.
