fillers, Botox, and chirurgical operation used to make you more attractive or improve your appareance/dating life

anyone else had them here and think they’re worth it?

There's nothing wrong with trying to take good care of yourself and make sure you look you best, but unless we're talking about a serious disfigurement, if you're chopping your body up and filling it will plastic, you've lost your mind.

I love Bill Burr's commentary on facelifts - you don't look younger you just look weird.

So you Just.. aren't ok with someone avg looking or even above avg having a jaw or cheeks or nose job? You think it’s extreme and totally unnecessary?

The main thing is: if it affects you psychologically and hurts your dating life, besides risks and price what are the negatives of it?

Yeah I'm all for plastic surgery for burn victims, people who had disfiguring injuries, cancer patients who had to have stuff surgically removed, fixing congenital issues like cleft lip, etc.

I think the cosmetic/vanity side of the industry is insane, predatory, and corrupt as fuck.

I mean just post your thoughts.

Why not just be yourself? Not everyone is shallow, the right person will love someone for who they are, and that will probably make for a better relationship. But I guess tattoos are just a bit less stupid.

Plastic surgery for a disfigurement is OK, but trying to look like a Kardashian is creepy.

What if you don’t like yourself and find you unattractive? I mean or experienced rejection? It’s both personal and for others as a choice

You think it’s creepy even if someone gets a soft procedure like fillers or Botox?

I feel like it's fine if it helps someone overcome their insecurities and it's done to enhance quality of life, and not as a bandage to a more serious mental health issue. Have been with a few women who had breast lifts done, rhinoplasty and similar, and it wasnt that big of a deal. Then again, some people go overboard with it and there's definitely the potential for a slippery slope.

I mean, in some sense I don't really care what people do to their bodies, but I also think you're pretty lost if you're taking that path.

The negatives are that you're failing to accept the life and body you've been given, as well as failing to see the inherent beauty of your body. If every engineer and scientist on the planet dedicated themselves to recreating a human hand for the next 20 years, they wouldn't be able to do. You're the most amazing machine in the known universe and you're going to chop yourself up and fill your body with plastic bullshit, for what? To adhere to some made up, idiotic beauty standards? Do your thing, but like I said I think you're pretty damn lost if that's the path you're taking. You'll be a much happier and wiser person if you learn to not just accept yourself but truly see the beauty in yourself, because in doing so you'll begin to see the beauty that is inherent in everyone and everything around you.

It's weird. I get it, that people are competitive and it's a way to look more attractive to the opposite sex. The appeal is there.

But at the same time, you are often hiding your bad genetics so that those bad genetics can more effectively reproduce themselves.

Life finds a way

Like everything else in life, done correctly and in moderation isn't a bad thing.

I think it’s fine and it helps people to gain some confidence. I don’t like the doctors who perform outlandish procedures. They are the enablers for someone’s body image issues.

Some minor tweaks is fine but going overboard isn't good.

Fillers and Botox to me means you’re not comfortable with yourself or aging. Once you get it, you’ll probably continue doing it until
you die. You’re probably going to get other procedures as well and still won’t be happy with yourself.

Work on your personality (we’ve all been rejected before countless of times). I used to train ufc and some fighters weren’t the best looking but they got girls because of their confidence.
