CHamps are the Champs, but no doubt we're in a period of MMA that seems a bit lacking. Alot of it has to do with Dana White and the way the UFC conducts business thou, so theres that.

But the problem for the UFC is Islam is already a bit of a star. They'd prefer Ilia was replacing a different champion.

Pantoja is legit but small, in a nothing division
Islam is the most legit

My favorite current champions are DDP and Aspinall (yes, I consider him the true HW champion, it's just a matter of time to "formalize"). I've never seen them in a bad fight.
