313 was a nightmare night for the UFC. Dang near a majority of the current champs are either unlikable or neutral. UFC in shambles.

Magomed doesn’t interest me, maybe he will with time. Pena I don’t like, but Kayla will deal with her. The rest I have no problem with. I generally enjoy impressive fighters I don’t watch for their personality. Not that Magomed isn’t impressive I just can’t help my feelings.

Jon Jones: cherry picking fraud
Ank: the best in the division, not as boring as people say
DDP: best trash talker in the game and fights his ass off, he's alright in my book
Belal: if you look up "merit" in the dictionary, Belal's picture will be there. Also the second best trash talker in the sport
Islam: P4P #1, when you look at the metrics he's a genuine star and one of the most exciting fighters in the game with a high finishing rate.
145 Vacant
Merab: Boring, wall stall professional, and overrated personality, but he earned his belt, can't deny that. Best gas tank in the UFC
Pantoja: Don't care, this division should be abolished, zero depth.
WMMA: Don't care, terrible depth and you'll see a finish once in a blue moon.

Curious how Merab got a label boring and Belal escaped with nothing but praise.

Aside from that it's a good list

I was over compensating to balance the public narrative, everyone says Belal is boring so I wouldn’t be adding anything there. But Merab gets a pass because he clowns in the cage and he gets a pass for what other fighters don’t. For example Ank wall stalls for 1 round and gets savaged, meanwhile Merab has made an entire career off wall stalling and somehow he’s liked lol.

I described it in another thread already but the appeal to me for Merab is his pace is truly special. A guy like Ank is a very talented complete well rounded fighter. But nothing about his game seems overly impressive, he just doesn't have have much of a weakness anywhere and is above average everywhere.

Give me the guy who goes to decision with one world class trait (endurance/pace) over a well rounded fighter who also goes to decision in half his fights. Merab's style is unique in execution even if he can't finish and after 20+ years of watching the majority of cards I find myself wanting to see fighters who bring something to the table besides well roundedness.

I think the difference in excitement between Ank and Merab is their size. There’s a reason 135, 145, and 155 are by far the best divisions. It’s the perfect balance of pace, power, speed, and technique. But personally i think there are plenty of BWs that are far more exciting than Merab.

i could give a shit about the current champs. they'll come and go unless they go a GOAT status run and if you think they're boring aren't you glad they're a champ? champs rarely fight more than once or twice a year, means you don't have to see their ass for the majority of the year. i'd be more mad if they were just gatekeeping contenders when they aren't the champ.

now we get to see young exciting fighters build themselves up fighting hopefully multiple times a year as they create momentum and now you have the big bad boring guy to root against. think positively

KO'ing Volk is the only thing I've really enjoy from Islam. Dricus is more interesting in every way.
Dricus has way more boring fights than Islam. Both the Strickland fights were dog shit lol. I like DDP but he’s not in the same universe as Islam when it comes to excitement, skill, talent, etc.

Aspinal, Islam, and DDP are entertaining and rest are either boring or don't fight enough for me to care one way or the other.

i like limited fighters. you see more creative strategies and tactics when everyone knows your game. like watching Mirko head kick people, or Demian Maia submit people. the fact that everyone knows your game but you still do it them anyway, i like that. that's some kung-fu master shit.
