Crime What did the cops do wrong today. Vol. 2

Didn't identify himself and shot the guy in the back before he finished yelling to drop the gun.

Point by point breakdown of how idiotic this interaction was and how the cops detained and then arrested the man for correctly asserting his rights in the interaction.

Also, the sergeant got himself demoted.

The trial for this scumbag has started. He shot into someone's house without knowing who it was, who else was in the house or anything at all.

The police has over 900,000 excessive force complaints.

Yep he didn't call the guy out in the street to draw and shoot it out the cop didn't fight "fair ".

This was a screwed up situation that the cops started by not informing the home owner they were there. The home owner had a gun most likely because she heard people outside. There is a disagreement if she pointed the gun at the cop or not. They set all this into motion by not informing the home owner who they were at first.

LOL Another straight up execution being justified because you people don't think that cops are actually supposed to incur any of the risks that you want us to praise them for taking.

It's Texas, the gun was legally owned, and there's a very expansive interpretation of the castle doctrine that allows homeowners there to handle perceived threats. It'll be fun to see the joint ideologies of second amendment absolutism and letting cops deal with every situation by shooting first play out in court.

While we're on the subject of Texas.

This is a good Samaritan who voluntarily came to the Nacodoches County Sheriffs department to give information about a local crime wave.

After he asserted his fourth amendment rights by refusing to give his phone over to the deputies without a warrant, one of them repeatedly punched him in the face and they confiscated the phone by force. The victim was then made to continue the interview without the deputies offering any medical attention.

The cops and the department are currently being sued by the victim.

Given that this is a blatant violation of constitutional rights, I hope that all of these fucking assholes lose their qualified immunity.

There were shots fired and it was not in self defense. In this case it sounds justified. If a cop comes up and you are discharging a weapon into a home is a good chance you will get shot.

From the video I hope they get charged with assault. Fired and never be able to work in law enforcement again.

If there is more to it then I would like to see it.

His whole visage is crooked. Dropped on head or inbred. Definitely shouldn't have had a gun.

<1>
totally avoidable tragedy
This is what they're hiring these days. Dudes who play with guns and kill their fellow officer/roommate. Unreal.

This is a few years old, but it's fucking hilarious.

I think you just made an entirely different point than you think you're making.
Population size doesn't matter for incidents of police violence if one sect has a multitude more police contacts than the other. It's basic statistics. However, if you want to argue it's caused by racial profiling and other unsavory tactics, I'll offer that you have a point.
