How many Canadians cross the border to get treated in the US?

I guarentee Americans aren't going north... lol

Crossing the Border for Care

Frustrated by long waits, some Canadians are heading to the U.S. for medical treatment.
People with means always find the fastest route, that's what having money gets you. I don't see that as an indictment on their health care system at all. For comparison, look at how many US citizens go to places like Mexico and Turkey for health care, Turkey being elective of course but still.

This... my family premium was around $200/month (2 adults - 4 kids).

After Obamacare, it was around $600

Here's how Obama sold it...

"I will sign a universal health care bill into law by the end of my first term as president that will cover every American and cut the cost of a typical family's premium by up to $2,500 a year."

Rated - Broken Promise

Healthcare insurance has gotten progressively worse in the 25 or so years I've been in the workforce. It sucks.

Universal Healthcare isn't free... Its Tax Payer funded and Canada has far higher taxes than even California....

Meh... What's the wait time for healthcare in Canada again?

UK?

I had to get hernia surgery last November and it tooks 3 week from initial appointment to the day of surgery.

The US System has issues... big issues. And it got much worse after Obamacare and premiums exploded by 3x-4x more. But Universal Healthcare is a fucking disaster.

In Hong Kong you have to wait forever for certain procedures that many would rather go private and pay the money instead of waiting

As stated above, costs raised significantly after Obamacare was implemented.
Not for the millions of Americans that gained coverage where they didn't have it before. Sucks for you if your for profit insurance company used the ACA as a reason for squeeze a few more buck out of you and raise your rates.

Can't you see, this is why the system needs to be reimagined.

Historically, as an individual country, yes. However, that has been changing in recent years. People are increasingly migrating to the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe.
Europe gets tons too, but I don’t think a single country gets anywhere near what the US does.

Homicide rate of G7 countries 2000-2021, by country

Published by S. Galan, Jan 23, 2025
The United States had, by far, the highest homicide rate of the G7 countries between 2000 and 2021. In 2021, it reached 6.81 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants, an increase from 6.52 in 2020 and 5.07 in 2019. By comparison, Canada, the G7 nation with the second highest homicide rate, had 2.07 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants in 2021. Out of each G7 nation, Japan had the lowest rate with 0.23 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants.
If only we could criticize the demography that makes those homicides and crime in general.. if only... im pretty sure Japan doesn't have that "demography" wich helps a lot about crime.

UK rate is around 1.1 , not exactly the "demographic" of japan is it?

plank..

With a crazy amount of restrictions , closely to an orwellian state.

Let's talk about a country that have actual freedom and low crime. Pretty sure the "demographics" must be pretty in that place.
The same way the parts with good "demographics" in America are very low on homicide rate and crime.

No doubt about that but the point is that it’s no longer THE place to go. More and more people opt for other places. Even Americans are on the move these days.

Hahaha it's sad that libtards can't recognise reality as it's. You could come up with a fairly good logic with theories for why it's those demographics that cause crime and low life quality but you don't really have arguments.

Do you ever read anyway? You're the guy who would defend 2+2=5 like in the book, because you don't care about reality or logic. <Dany07>

Fo sho. If I were a 22 year old lad just out of college I’d seriously consider it myself.

Actually they are. Of course it’s relative. Their starting point was shithole country.

How’s Australia doing? New Zealand?
New Zealand is so-so, we are still recovering from all the left over spending and soft on crime etc. Like most countries we let in too many migrants which has strained all our systems and housing. We arent shit but could be better also.
