This. I have no clue.

Take the guy you believe has/had the best conditions ever, with no specific training besides the cardio/roadwork they do in their training.
In the peak shape of his life, and going absolutely all out @ every distance.
Assuming he is perfectly well paced in order to get the best possible time for his maximum effort.

100, 200, 400, 800, 1500/mile, 5000, 10000. A 3000 guess would be nice.

Thks for the insight!

Greg hardy probably at shorter distance he is winning. Brocl Lesnar too

Nate Quarry is the answer

Adesanya would beat a prime 2009 Usain Bolt in 100 meters if Romero was chasing him

Also Bethe Correira would win the Olympics high jump gold medal if she trained a bit more

Well considering there are plenty of ex NFL/D1 College RB's, WR's and DB's fighting professionally in MMA, safe to say there are or has been pro fighters who could possibly run in the 10.3-11.2 sec range in the 100m.

It's not a freak question at all. Pure speculation? Sure.

A fighter does lots of roadwork, treadmill, and sprints, 400, 1000s and mile repeats.

There are many tell tales (difficult to believe, at least) about boxers doing fast as fook 12x400 series. And some runners assure that peak shape Floyd knew he was "on point" when he was able to run 2 miles a tad below 9'.
That sounds out of the ballpark to me, but combat sports athletes' running times are not pedestrian at all.

For example (I'm going for body composition): an endurance beast like Merab, or a slender guy with a great cardio like a (younger) Holloway, or... dunno, Figueiredo, could sneak below 35' for a 10k?

Guys like Evloev or Islam, in absolute peak shape, could run under 4:30 for 1500?

In the king of the strength endurance running distances, Aljo or Leon could lap a 400 in 50"?

(Change the fighters according to the criteria).

*I'm talking about pure fighters, I know former NFL players started UFC (i doubt any of them were sub-11 guys, but I have no clue).
Guys I see as -potentially- good sprinters are maybe DDP, (younger) Rountree, Rakic, Ulberg and... maybe Leon, too. Dude has absurdly strong legs.

Your missing the point of the argument.

High level anything requires life dedication. Nobody is suggesting a fighter is trained enough to do long distance running. What they are saying is that if this fighter had spent their time running (or doing another sport) instead, that they'd have success.

This is a stretchy thread. It would have been a lot better to just ask if there are fighters that could have been accomplished in track, or maybe to ask what level they would have been able to reach. Guessing actual times is pissing in the wind; this is too broad of a hypothetical to get to specific answers like that.

As someone else said, there are NFL guys, like Hershel Walker. He was a 3 time all-American in track and field, so he might be the best track athlete to ever fight MMA.

No, sorry, probably I could have explained myself better.

I mean without specific training, not talking about potential but possible running times based on running (both road, track, Course Navette...) being a foundation of fight conditioning.

For example, football (you call it soccer =)) players need acceleration and top speed for 20-30 meters. Maybe you can extend that to 50 or so for full backs. But they run track 3000s here and there as fitness tests both off and on season.

And they clock 1000s in a regular basis to assess their conditioning aswell.

Thks!
