History What Brought You To Sherdog

My desire for learning how to fight and my passion for mixed martial arts spanning almost two decades.

I have/ had an 06 account on mmajunkie but no one really posted there … after Boston bombing I heard about this site on the news .. looked at it from time to time when big fights happened then joined up one day to hit on some chick named Mmagirl

I came for MMA news, I stayed for the war room

I was lamenting the terrible state of MMA news with my sister in-law's boy friend and he recommended sherdog. The current state of sherdog is pushing me away though

I think I was doing a random search for MMA related information. And came upon Sherdog and notice it has a message board. So I checked it out and loved it right away. That was back in 2007, around the time I discovered Fedor.

GSP in late 06'
(was banned twice, because of PED accusation against his opponent back then lol)
((also was a troll))

Sherdog's fantastic Fight Finder database to see how badass the local Super Brawl and PRIDE FC fighters were and who they previously faced.

Fight Finder fighters I've seen in person without attending an MMA event:

Egan Inoue
Chad Owens (CFL star has at least one MMA match, I think)
Bas Rutten
Rampage
Sexyama

From Sherdog Radio, the founder said one of the earlier Sherdog staff was super smart about arranging for Sherdog to show up high in search results. I forget what he said his day job was but I think it was something you have to be smart to do.

I think it was after I found out about Pride.. I was trying to find any UFC events I could find after watching UFC 2 but came across Pride.. seeing Fedor, Crocop, Shogun do work had me amazed so I was looking for MMA websites to find out more about it and found this degenerate ass place

Null will probably never allow his pet white separatists to be marginalized on kiwifarms so where else could i go?

Downloaded a random "Finishes of the UFC" highlight on Kaaza. It had a Sherdog.com watermark on it (and other I downloaded).

Lurked for a while and then signed up around 2003-4. My first account got teh bant because of childish fighter bashing (I believe Nick Ring got the most of it).

Older poster (42) here

I was 18 when I signed up and this was one of the few good MMA sites around. Also since I was done wrestling I started training at my local gym and back in the day before the sport really went mainstream a decent portion of us posters actually competed as well so we had that in common.

Crazy how much this place has changed over the years.

UFC hadn’t caught on in the UK. I wanted someone to discuss Chuck Liddell, Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz with.

Voila.

Someone said there would be punch and pie... there was no punch and pie.
