What books are you reading?

Yeah i actually didn't like the other book I posted and quit reading it. Reading Between two fires right now and probably 2/3s the way through it. Highly recommend it. Some very good creepy horror stuff and medieval demon action.

Did you get around to it??? Looked it up on Goodreads just now, and immediately put it on my TBR.

I did. Just posted this the other day. I love it and can’t recommend it enough

I might read between two fires next , or those across the river
I’m definitely reading across the river next. For you and @ObsoleteSoul i will say this. I do most of my reading before falling asleep at night and there were two nights now where it was genuinely creepy enough I didn’t fall asleep for a long time.

Got it on the kindle and on chapter 1-3 already. Hope you’re right!

I picked up a book from Amazon called Light Medicine of the Future by Jacob Liberman. Good Book. I'm enjoying it.

I'm looking to learn more about how natural sunlight effects hormone levels in the body. As an example sun exposure, for those not wearing sunglasses, will raise testosterone levels.

I have a quarter of the book left. I will probably finish it tonight at work if it stays slow. So far I am enjoying it, the writing is dry and lots of numbers and theories. I ordered the next 2 in the series yesterday. I plan on reading at least those ones.

The book has lots of theories that are intriguing. It reminds me of Sphere by Michel Crichton in a way, but more in depth. Plus it has some religious stuff and ideas on alien contact. If you like sci fi it is worth a checkout.
I read the first, and got 31% through the second, and just gave up. I need some literary qualities though, and it felt too robotic in tone and style. I get why some would like it though. Not everything you read has to have Gene Wolfe levels of writing

It does seem a bit robotic. Some of that is probably due to the language translation.

I havent read this book yet but I have heard a lot of great things about Dr. Jerry Tennant. I think his work and books are right up your alley.

teeming with nutrients

The trouble with peace
No shit. I've been reading Teaming with Microbes and the Trouble With Peace is next on the list. Funny.

Didn't read it when it came out cause wanted to wait for the third but then they both fell by the wayside.

Ahh I see lots of peeps like Christopher Buehlman. I loved the Blacktongue Thief. Gotta check out those others posted itt now.

Yes I agree. Dr. Tennet's books were good reads.

I have to admit though his book on cancer confused me. He is one of the latest to write about John Beards theory that cancer is caused by placenta cells. Then Dr. Tennants theory for a cure is to use an electrical simulating machine to turn the cancer stem cells back to normal. As best as I can tell his theory isn't working, at least from the little I've seen of his follow up work. Maybe things have changed.

What confused me is that Dr. Tennant is an eye doctor by training. Why didn't he bring up using light as a signal for cancer cells to return to normal. There are many simple observation examples of people reporting that they have been able to use light to successfully fight cancer. Makes me wonder what am I missing. Oh well, I ordered another book on light therapy that supposedly discusses the use of light to fight cancer. Hope I learn more there on the light theory.

So I havent deep dived to much into Jerry Tennants philosophies on health but I did hear that he also believes cancer can also be caused by bad root canals that leave a ligament connecting parts of the dead tooth to certain organs which bacteria can travel down to and cause cellular dysfunction and then cancer.

Whats your favorote health books? I'm looking for something interesting to read.

I finished A man Called Ove. Now I'm reading How to Talk Dirty and Influence People (Lenny Bruce).

True, he does discuss his beliefs that root canals are dangerous and likely cancer causing. If you develop cancer might be a good idea to have the dead teeth removed. At least after reading his thoughts that is what i would do.

Oh I don't know, maybe since talking about teeth, if you haven't read Weston Price's book - Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, you would enjoy it. It's a wonderful health book. I'm going to read it again myself soon.

I'm kind of interested in writings on cancer at the moment, and while I don't recall Price writing about cancer, I'm guessing I've just forgot about what is observed. I'm guessing cancer was rare in the societies he visited that ate primitive diets and lived traditional lives.

Nutrition and Physical Degeneration

https://www.amazon.com/Nutrition-Ph...1656957614&sprefix=weston+price,aps,92&sr=8-1

For nearly 10 years, Weston Price and his wife traveled around the world in search of the secret to health. Instead of looking at people afflicted with disease symptoms, this highly-respected dentist and dental researcher chose to focus on healthy individuals, and challenged himself to understand how they achieved such amazing health. Dr. Price traveled to hundreds of cities in a total of 14 different countries in his search to find healthy people. He investigated some of the most remote areas in the world. He observed perfect dental arches, minimal tooth decay, high immunity to tuberculosis and overall excellent health in those groups of people who ate their indigenous foods. He found when these people were introduced to modernized foods, such as white flour, white sugar, refined vegetable oils and canned goods, signs of degeneration quickly became quite evident. Dental caries, deformed jaw structures, crooked teeth, arthritis and a low immunity to tuberculosis became rampant amongst them. Dr. Price documented this ancestral wisdom including hundreds of photos in his book, Nutrition and Physical Degeneration.

I'm a huge fan of Weston Price's work and the foundation made in his honor. I have been reading his book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration intermittently (that reminds me though I got to finish the book).

Here is a another book that has been popular the last few years in alternative medicine. https://www.amazon.com/Cu-RE-Your-Fatigue-Root-Cause/dp/1662910282

Morley Robbins basically believes that supplementation of iron in foods is causing the majority of health problems now a days and that copper and vitamin a/retinol are extremely important for optimal health and that iron depletes copper.
