What books are you reading?

Listening to Gardens of the Moon while working. Read the whole series over a decade ago. I don't particularly like that Quick Ben and his hulking friend of an assassin- Kalam- sounded like pansies. They're both black. The British guy doing the audio doesn't have bass in his voice.
I never got all the way through that series. One day.

Rereading The Magicians trilogy and the Hellequin series. Then I plan on reading the Sandman Slim series for the 8th time

The Last Kilo, a nice reminder of how awesome it was when everybody was loaded up on cocaine all the time

Without Reservation

How a controversial Indian Tribe rose to power and built the world's largest casino.

Dated a bit but a great read IMO.

Tripwire by Lee child. It's book 3 in the jack reacher series. I've read the first 2 and liked them both. This one is also good so far.

The Reacher books are great up until Andrew Child starts written them. They drop off hard in quality.

The Guide to Going Viral by Brendan Kane
Traction by Gino Wickman
Influence Science and Practice by Robert Cialdini
Atomic Habits by James Clear

And I have a long list of other books mostly in business and psychology, but some in art, writing fiction and non-fiction, storytelling.

I really need to dedicate more time to getting through my library, and even reviewing things I've already read. So much of my time is taken up by watching videos and taking notes on various subjects like A.I. and whatnot.

have u gone viral yet bro??

I checked out Edward Gibbon's "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" from my local library

Read lars monsens across canadian wilderness

Madman norwegian becomes first human to cross canadian wilderness and does heavy shit on the way

Whats up guys... I started reading again.

Last month I read:
Tokyo Blues: Liked it. Different to everything I have read before.. japanese are very weird.
Then went to a local books shop and the girl there recommended me Kokoro from Soseki. I liked it too but hard to feel related.. different cultures hard to judge.
After all.. what the fuck is with japanese and suicide? jeez

Went last saturday and asked for something a bit more occidental.. girl suggested me a couple of books and ended up taking the Claus and Lucas trilogy by Agota Kristof. She told me it was kind of raw.. and if I liked Dostoievsky I would love that too.
35 pages in and I'm loving it so far. I think I will keep me entertained for a couple of weeks.

Just finished Book 6 of the Suneater series, titled "Disquiet Gods".

It is ok. The series as a whole is overhyped imho. The protagonist is 600- years old and talks and acts like a moody 25 year old. It barely qualifies as SF, and the antagonist species is fairly ho-hum. Reading it to stay in the fantasy/sf zeitgeist. The things we do to ourselves.

Got "The Open Society and Its Enemies" by Karl Popper in the chamber for after DG is completed.

Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman. Was at the bookstore and browsing around, got the new Grey Man novel and saw this. Cover caught my eye and then read the synopsis... this may be my favorite book ever. I've been dying how funny it is and has a cool premise - earth is "invaded" by aliens one night and anyone caught indoors, or in any kind of structure with a roof, is dead. All buildings and even cars are totally gone. Anybody who was outside has an hour to get into these portals. Carl, our hero, happened to be outside trying to catch his ex-girlfriend's cat. Both end up going into the portal.

Turns out the portals are doors to a dungeon and Carl and Princess Donut are now in an intergalactic Survivor like TV show!

If you like your fantasy/science fiction with a dose of humor, ok - LOTS of humor, this book is for you. Turns out this is a series with 5 books so far in it. I will be getting all the rest.

I keep seeing this series brought up in book circles. Same people said the Bobiverse stuff was funny too. It wasn't... Have you read any, and what kind of humor is it? If you don't mind answering.
