What books are you reading?

I was daunted by the sheer number of books in the Discworld series. I read a couple in the Watch series, then went back and started from the beginning. I'm on "Sourcery" now.

Yeah I understand that, just a ton of books. The Watch series is my favorite, followed by the Moist con Lipwig series. Although Death and the Witches are also fun too.

Yeah I re read Mediations once a year as a reality and perspective check. Works well.
Been ages since I read any Pratchett.

Awesome man, it’s really helping me with my recent cancer diagnosis. A very important book for me right now.

i read it on my phone before i go to sleep and usually puts me right out quick better than any sleeping pill

This a good one.

But I can't understand it for shit.

I've thought about trying the series again. I keep hearing so much about it. It was probably 10 years ago I read The Gunslinger and I barely remember it.
I was the same way. I started years ago but had a hard time getting into the first book. Given the massive popularity and King calling the story his magnum opus, I decided to give it another shot just a few months ago and have been going pretty hard. Some of his novels require more effort at times to get through than others, but it's been a satisfying experience.

I finally finished it, can’t decide what to read next because how can you follow that banger ?

Definitely going to reread it in the future, didn’t get it all the first time but was a great read.

I'm reading a John Wayne Gacy book by his defense lawyer. Pretty good so far.

About to indulge in this book .....it's been gathering enough dust on the shelf waiting to be read by me :)

.....then next on the list.....I met Asia outside Dario Argento's Little Shoppe of Horrors in Rome some years ago and she gave me a signed copy of her book

Good stuff, mindset is super important. Sending you my best healing vibes.

Did you read The Talisman first? I read that years ago. Debating if I need to reread that. I remember there were parts that were hard to get through.
I did, and I would say it helps set the stage for the things to come in Black House, but they are very different books, atmosphere wise.

You can tell that Peter Straub had much more influence on The Talisman, whereas Black House is very dark and macabre, ala Stephen King.

The Emperor of All Maladies is seriously fantastic. Will have to check this one out.
That is definitely his most famous book, though this is actually the first of his that I am reading. Very good so far.

Memoir of a British guy's time for fighting for the Nationalists in Spain from 1936 to 1938.

I couldn't recommend it more highly. Fucking harrowing stuff. I also read it while on a bit of a Dead Can Dance kick. Pretty brilliant combination imo.

Just started Your Money or Your Life, also just got On the Shortness of Life by Seneca, haven't started yet.

Bought the book after watching some clips of Joe Rogan and the author talking about the Comanche tribe.

This looks really interesting, might have to hunt it down (pun definitely and defiantly intended).

I'm reading Musashi for the 4th time. Probably my favourite book.
