What are your unpopular TV show/movie opinions?

From the very very little that i have seen from game of thrones, the show looks lame as fuck. Lord of the rings type shit.

South park looks like a show for dudes that weren't able put high school humor to rest.
Nothing like Lord of the Rings really.

It's more about incest, political intrigue, murder in it's many forms, prostitution, war, love ... and some fantasy elements.

Same man, I'm a horror buff too but Nightmare on Elm Street doesn't do it for me. Actually very few slasher horror films does it for me.

I'm more of a supernatural possession, psychological horror type of guy. Even having said the latter, I don't particularly understand the hype for The Shining as well. I watched it three times over spans of years to try to get what I missed. It's a decent film, but not a masterpiece imo.
Have you tried the 6 part series of The Shining? I thought that was significantly better than the original

I do love slasher movies but there is little scary about them
Demonic possession or unseen threats are what get me

I do love the Shining but I don't consider it horror, its a wonderful movie though. I love to get high and watch it

I mentioned in another horror thread before why I don't "get" slasher films.

It's probably because the settings doesn't induce fear for me to relate to the victims of the film because I'm living in high rise building in Asia. Most if not all slasher films are in suburbs in huge ass bungalow or whatever you call them. I simply can't relate to being stalked in these are I guess. Or road trips that turn wrong because they got stuck in the woods or something. I can't relate to that because I live in a concrete city.

I don't shit on them though because I can understand why people love them and felt fear for these films.

One particular horror that freaked me out, and most Asians, is the Hong Kong version of The Eye. Because of the lift scene. Gives me goosebumps, again because I can relate to it. I take lift home every single day and at the back of my head, I think shit, that could happen. Especially because the film was out when I'm in my late teen and I reach home 2am to 3am <45>

Nope, is it on Netflix? I will try to find it.

This is a horror movie that you can relate to then! It's awesome!

Tarantino is super overrated, and since he's become the unofficial arbiter of "cool" cinema most people are scared to admit some of his movies are mediocre at best.

The wire is hot garbage
I don't think it's garbage, simply because the character development was very good... but DAMN this show was a chore to watch. I gave up a few times. It did not need that many seasons in my opinion. And i would definitely not watch it again.

I don't think i would recommend it either, unless you are going to be in a wheelchair/bedridden for awhile due to injury.

I liked pulp fiction and inglorious basterds. The rest of his movies... meh. I did read good things about his latest one being good

I wouldn't say The Shining is a slasher film though, it might have a man with an axe as the most obvious antagonist but it really doesn't play on the idea of being stalked by someone with a lot of jump scares. What makes it freightening is much more the slow build up of atmosphere rather one one off moments.

  • Star Wars is gay af
  • There was no big deal with GoT
  • Sacha Baron Cohen should have played Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody (Mr. Robot is prolly my favorite TV show so not hating on Rami Malek)
  • Intellectually inferior people watch mainstream TV shows like Supergirl/Money Heist/13 Reasons Why and movies like Fast & Furious/Shaft/50 Shades of Gray

Some of mines:

- Will Ferrell is one of the most underrated actors in hollywood.

- Billions might be the best written TV show right now.

- Bojack Horseman is the deepest.

- TV/movies hipsters (and there are A LOT of them here) overanalyze TV Shows/Movies just to try to look smarter than they actually are.
They are actually dumb as fuck and writers would laugh their asses off reading some of the stupid theories/meanings that people makes about their work

Game of Thrones was too boring to even get past the 2nd episode. Fuck that show.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2 should’ve won an academy award.

Mickey Rourke lost out on the Oscar for the wrestler, simply because sean penn played a :eek::eek: in the milk movie.

I couldn’t deal with the poor acting BUT I will say I fucking hate Baltimore and never attend company events in that shithole so that might have something to do with it

LOL. No you didn't.

I thought The Phantom Menace was better than the original Star Wars........hey everyone look at me. I'm different.
In my defence my copy of GF2 didn't have subtitles for the De Niro parts, and I hated his casting in general.
