I understand it's easy to make fun of because of how ridiculous it looks. But, objectively speaking, what is wrong with it? I mean, it's essentially just meant to improve your bodies flexibility and agility. And although it hasn't had any major noticeable effect on McGregor or Nelson's career, I imagine it's helped them somewhat.

Depends on who you learn it from. Floyd Mayweather vs weirdo in the park with a man bun, results may vary.

Legit shit, when I train boxing my coach and I practice stepping on each other's feet and I feel like a dumb shit.

Is only valuable if you're 135lbs and under.

It's done jack shit for people 145 and above.

The ligher your weight, and the more dynamic your striking and wrestling arsenal, the more appropriate suppleness, reflexiveness and over all movement training becomes. Look at Firas' yoga ball training. Same idea, really.

So gay, it makes Gay Jesus look straight.

Condit has a movement coach and IMO should have the belt right now

It can't hurt. Like you said it's at least good flexibility and agility training. I imagine it also gives you certain strength like stability and balance in parts of your body you normally wouldn't train as much.

I think the main problem with movement training is what smarter people than me have pointed, it probably does help you be a fighter, but when there is only so much time an athlete can spend training, is supplementing it in for something more traditional like Jiu-Jitsu class that day, the best way to go about training?

But it can hurt. You can fuck your knees up by being a 200lb man and bouncing around like that.

i objected to it on the merit that it was treated as this massive innovation and the key to conor mcgregor's success, validated by his victory over aldo despite the fact that mcgregor, before ever hearing of ido portal, was skipping back and throwing a straight left. It's got its uses I guess, but acting like it's the key to the universe was stupid, it was a dumb fad like steven segal was a dumb fad.

The idea of training movement is very legit. But there is no such thing as "general movement". The fighter needs to train movement specifically for the upcoming opponent to have an advantage in angles/speed/elusiveness/etc.

Conor did not train properly for a taller/rangier fighter with a better cardio. Gunnar's movement looked great in his last fight.

Lol, if you can squat whatever amount, you should be able to support your own weight especially as an athlete. If you fuck up your knees the movement training is not to blame. You probably already fucked them up before or are just in terrible shape.
