Social What are the most obnoxious things about the USA as a foreigner?

We have every single ethnicity of food you can imagine here. So unless you think every country's food sucks I have news for you.

It doesn't matter, if the ingredients bought at the supermarket have nowhere close to the flavor they should have, you simply won't get a dish that tastes the way it supposed to. When I first came to the USA, I was horrifically shocked how much a tomato does not taste like a tomato.

In my experience ALL Murrkan men i met were good dudes.

However, a huge Proportion of the women were entitled, annoying cunts.

A common misconception. It's just the only choice politicians offer is either ban guns or do nothing. No one ever asks the question how do you preserve the second ammendment while keeping lunatics out of schools ? There would never be a school shooting again if they put me in charge of solving it FYI.

I actually thought of a way about 5 yrs ago.
Yes it would cost some money to US Federal budget and it would require some change to schools but I think it would be doable and would not affect 2nd amendment in the slightest.

Anyway, I just don't think anyone in power has got serious and said"right we're going to fix this, it'll cost this much and we do t need to touch any aspect of the constitution."

I know this subject has been done to death but I am aligned with @Gutter Chris here (I think).

Politicians don't actually want to solve anything.

They NEED all of the huge divisive problems so that they can use them for political leverage to justify their parasitic existence and corrupt way of life. They NEED those atrocities to happen so they can go around galavnting about how the other side is the bad guys and they will Not do an actual goddamn thing fix everything as long as you give them your money and give away your own personal rights and freedoms.

The problem across the board is CORRUPTION.

The medical and pharma industry profits from us being sick, fat and diabetic. Healthy people don't move enough pills to keep Pharma profit margins growing.

Cops, lawyers, FOR PROFIT PRISONS, and politicians profit from us being angry, violent and divided. That's why their solution to growing crime and violence is to have less cops filling out less reports, that equals more crime but they can claim crime went down. Preventing crime reduces profits and money circulation for prisons, lawyers and insurance companies.
Crime is their business and business is booming.

"Build back better" is the smiley happy bow on the shit sandwhich because it has a better ring to it that "intentionally faciliate destruction so we can use the disaster to justify a power grab that has been meticulously planned all along"

It happened a few times. The catalyst is always some war that is ongoing or about guns.
hmm, but we're not responsible for every war that's going on and we're not the only ones who are violent, the whole species is. And much of the world is in chaos. I guess America being the powerhouse and cultural figure that it is makes us a good target. Not that I mind that, it's just interesting. At any rate, those of us who live here realize that unless you're involved in shady people or stay in shady places it's not like the rep says. If it was, I'd never leave the house.

I've enjoyed my visits to the US, great country and good people. Having said that I do find Americans quite self centred, in the fact they (generally) expect we know everything about their country and they know nothing. Well they know Australia has kangaroos and shrimps on the barbie and that's about it usually.
that's true, i had a spanish teacher in 9th grade who pointed out how we always expected everything to revolve around us and pointed out that a car company made a car called a Nova and couldn't understand why it wouldn't sell in spanish speaking countries, then they found out nova meant "no go".

what group or persons are "they" the same old rockefellers and bildenburgers?

Polynesians is the first trend I'm noticing.

From the countries you've posted, I'm noticing a second trend...

ya, saw the list, all the polynesia countries are the heaviest and the biggest, no clue why that is. Samoans are usually big in every way, tall, fat, muscular. I remember in high school, even the girls had peach fuzz moustaches and were masculine looking. They were very nice people though and I felt bad for them because everyone expected them to be badasses.

As an American, you just can't get a sim card from a vending machine/store.

Most other places, you pay for it, pop it in, and go. In the US, you have to go through whatever setup process.

I think many bad things about my country (and good), but I would never talk shit on a country I am not intimately aware of their culture and customs. When I travel abroad, it's par for the course to hear people talk shit about America but honestly the shit I hear is surface level stereotypes that makes me realize people are universally retarded regardless of what country they're from.

It's true, we're fat. I wonder why people were so thin in films from pre 80's. People look like permanent underdeveloped teenagers compared to the sloths we have around today. I wonder how much of it is how much we eat and how much is what is in the food. I really do wonder if our food is so poorly produced that it throws our systems out of whack. Or, maybe it's just as simple as people eating too much and not burning nearly as many calories.

Both. It's terrible food that's basically slow working poison and makes you fatter, than normal food would. It doesn't give you a sensation of being full quickly, so you can keep eating it and it makes you addicted, which means you will eat way too much of it.

ya, but what is it? is it the sugar/fructose or some kind of crack cocaine like substance they put in it.

I do know that when I have to bust my ass at work, I lose weight without trying. We don't have to work like we did in earlier times. My first job was at a steel mill and even then, most of the men were potbellied and sedentary while the machines did most of the work. It's got to be worse today.

i wouldn't go nowhere and just talk shit to people who I don't know. that's stupid. I worked with a russian guy, crazy as fuck and all he did all day was talk about america. the shit was annoying, just as bad as working with those guys who bitch about how the business is run or how they can't wait to retire. It's not the content of what they say for me, it's that they just go over and over and over again, I hate people like that and there are a lot of them. Just shut your mouth and let me chill.

Sugar is mostly what is getting people addicted. But there is all kinds of other crap in food that has all kinds detrimental effects. It depends of course on what exactly you're eating.

I remember being in London and hearing people saying dumb shit about America out in public. I take it it's a common topic, and I get it. But I felt like leaning in and dropping a Don Draper on em - "We don't think about you at all "

did they know you were american? Only time I ever criticized someone's country it was kinda a accident. I met an asian woman, cute as a button so I was nervous, she came up to me asking about our homework. I've never been smooth with the wimminz so I eventually asked where she was from, "china"? she said no, "korea"? she said no and turned red, I said "where the fuck you from then?" She said Khazakstan, which to me is Russian. And being an Indian who knows his history in Alaska, where the russians decimated 90' percent of the eskimos, just to do it and called us "hostile" for fighting them off, I said, "you guys are mean!" that was the end of the convo, only time I ever did that but she was pretty and I was nervous.

I think its pretty much this as you said.

Few other things that spring to mind:
1) food PORTION SIZES in USA are generally way out of control. It's not like this (generally) in other countries.

2) SOFT DRINKS obsession : coke / sprite / 7up / 50+ other varieties are shoved in your face all day long. Heads up that these generally have a lot of calories in them. OK there's" lite" and "zero" versions but some kids especially just sip onto sugary sodas all day long. Calories that are liquids is often quietly forgotten about but it can be a large part of the issue.

3) when I watch USA TV (via a live sports broadcast for eg) it's incredible to me the sheer volume of pizza / Philly cheesesteak /fried chicken/fried anything and everything / cheese cheese cheese and have a bit more cheese etc etc. Every now and then there's a geico advert or car advert but otherwise you are bombarded with JUNK FOOD commercials. That means it becomes "normal" to the USA viewers and this propagates viewers doing the exact same thing and buying 5 extra large 14inch extra-pepperoni quad-cheese pizzas when you really don't need that. It's just gluttony thrust upon the viewers as "everyone else is doing this, come on, join us and eat 9.000cals today guilt-free!!"

Less is more...

Compared to a lot of other countries, i'm sure that we shoot each other a lot. But, how many of us have been shot? .
I'm not American and I don't live in USA but I do have some American friends and I know at least THREE of them I know that who all have been shot. Plus a 4th that has been shot AT and had bullets whizzing past his head. That's just 3 that I can immediately think of. Probably more than 3, but some people prefer not to admit it.
