What I mean is I've noticed that for whatever reason might it be because of the fighter's stage of career, taking place in smaller/regional promotion, or other various circumstances, some fights with huge names are not really factored in when considering their overall resume or career.

Some examples are BJ-Machida or some of Fedor's/Chuck's losses later in their career.

I literally have never seen someone bringing up Machida's win over BJ when trying to argue his record/career prestige. I've also seen almost no one factor in Liddell's later losses when he was "over the hill" when considering his place in the sport.

So I was wondering what are some more obscure fights or ones people don't bring up often on here that occurred between big name fighters?

I think Gomi versus Penn could be up there to they both were top 5 lightweights and Penn wrecked him. But don't even think it was televised.

Fedor's losses late in his career are mentioned here all the time.

I'd say a big fight that flies under the radar a lot is Dan Henderson vs Ninja Rua.

At that time Dan Henderson was already well known and had wins over Renzo, Yvel, Big Nog and Babalu. Ninja was just getting noticed as an undefeated guy in his second Pride fight.

In the end the judges gave Dan the split decision that no everyone agreed with of course.

A lot of people dont realize that Murillo Rua was one of the very first complete mixed martial artists.

Mir breaking Roberto Traven's arm is never mentioned when people talk about his bone breaking submissions or in general really. He's a BJJ world champion.

Just going with that train of thought, neither does his early win over rich. Lyoto won that fight in Japan iirc.

True people forget that he was known as "Decision Dan" earlier in his career lol.

For me its prob Randy/Tito. That fight was so big for the early fans and of course randy wrecked him. It was equivalent to any huge conor or ronda fight and people hardly mention it

Overeem vs Vitor II in Strikeforce, it was so boring, Vitor using the same strategy than against Saku in PRIDE.

Robbie Lawler vs Ninja Rua for the EliteXC belt was a pretty big deal back then.

Sakuraba vs Royce II, most people only remember the Gracie steroid scandal, the fight in itself was just Royce butt-scooting all the time and Saku kicking his legs, that was pretty boring and for a rematch of one of PRIDE's most emblematic fight, it's not brought up often.

AA vs Sylvia 4: small promotion with weird-ass rules, too bad, the soccer kicks ending was badass.

Wanderlei Silva / Chris Leben

It's only mentioned in lists for the most dissapointing fights.

For good reason.
