Way of the Gun was the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread tittle. The best part is knowing that the movie takes a moral nose dive from there. I don't think there was a character with multiple lines that I didn't think was a monster.
I've always liked the opening scene to Tombstone. Some nice foreshadowing going on there.
I'd say the most sympathetic characters are clearly Juliette Lewis and the doctor.
BTW, random factoid about the film: After reading the script, Ryan Phillipe was desperate to be in it. The director, Chris McQuarrie (who went on to make Jack Reacher and MI: Rogue Nation), actually discouraged him and was like, "You're Ryan Phillipe, go be in a movie people are actually going to see!" But Phillipe would not take no for an answer. Presumably he saw this movie as his opportunity to break out of the pretty teen boy roles he was known for. So he grew out his facial hair and put on 25 lbs to convince McQuarrie that he could do this "man role" and after seeing his dedication McQuarrie went ahead and cast him.
It was a good choice too, in my opinion, because I think he's great in the film.
I forgot about the Top Gun opening scene. That was my favorite movie as a kid, probably watched it 100 times. The opening scene is top notch.Top Gun
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Star Wars
Naked Gun. It's funny, there's a guy punching dudes, and the music is great.
I don't remember the opening scene but that whole movie is amazing, it's a true masterpiece.

Such a great film. I don't think it made a huge amount of money at release but it has stood the test of time in a big way.I couldn't find it on YouTube in entirety but Neil ( dinero) calmly steals an ambulance and they have that organized jack of the truck and pick up wayngro and immediately you can tell wayngro is a problem and potential threat. they jack the truck and end up killing the guys all bc of wayngro
