More overall weight will make him punch harder and hold down guys easier but....It's going to hurt his stamina, make him much worse off the back, and seriously hurt his speed. I mean, unless he plans on having a boxing match out there, why didn't he just put on 15 lbs of lean mass with a little fat and fight at a nice healthy 225 like Cro Cop?

Less stress and a moderate amount of body fat will prohibit brain fog. Srs, but I did say a moderate amount.

Slow down he didnt gain 40lbs of fat.

He didnt have to cut the weight for this fight.

2 very different things.

And if he added 15lbs of muscle he has zero chance of going back to lhw to defend his belt.

It isn't all fat.

Watch the last imbedded...He looks normal standing next to Cruz and twice as small as Derrick Lewis this may have been a bad idea

The thing is, DC has always been this fat. He just looks fatter than normal because he didn’t have to do the water loading/dehydration bullshit

Go get slugged and manhandled by a manlet and then a no-cut Tank Abbot and tell us what difference "40 lbs of fat" makes.

DC might lose but he's a fucking tank at HW.

Poor Daniel's going to balloon up to 400 lbs the day after he retires.

He just gains weight too easily.

That being said, I love the guy and hope he wins one for all of us chubby guys

i dont get why you think he gained more than 15lbs for this fight.

Hormonal balance is better when not cutting weight = feeling a lot stronger.

I don't know if you lift and ever went on a bulk, the strength and power gains are real when you aren't really limiting yourself.

However there is a point of diminishing returns (in terms of strength and cardio) if you get so fat that it's harder to move your fat ass + the weight. Since DC is doing a lot of conditioning work in the gym I doubt he let himself get to that point...no matter what he is currently looking like.

DC has an extreme endomorphic body. It largely has to do with his frame, he's not fat. With more weight DC can hit harder, absorb more damage, use more pressure against the fence, and have the advantage of heavy top position.

Nothing in this post has anything to do with real life, sports, or biology in general.

DC comes into a weight cut for 205 at about 230 or so. He sure as fuck did not gain 40 lbs of fat.

Do you even know how weightcut works?

LHW DC must be around 225/230lbs... he put 20lbs of fat/muscle AT MOST.

Also you dont grind a much bigger opponent.
