What about a roped octagon?

A ring certainly looks better but its just not practical for MMA. Constant stops because fighters are too close to the ropes or falling through them
 
what about the yamma pit with a moat of tentacle rape? maybe some landmines and dennis rodman?

In russia they actually have fighting arenas with obstacles etc. and they have 2v1, 3v1, 2v2 etc. competitions. Those are awesome. A bit OT though. How about a 5v5?

Nobody thinks badly of MMA because of the cage. This is not 2008 anymore :rolleyes:

Why? The cage has been just fine from the beginning. The only thing impractical about it is watching it live. It fucking sucks but I don't care because I watch 99.99999% of my MMA at home.

I like this idea? But lets refine it only electrified if you try to grab the fence or wrap your toes into the cage to prevent from being turned over.
 
If people can't accept mma is a legit sport and think of fights to the death or the thunder dome when they see it, nothing will help them accept it.

No gloves will be generally good for fighter safety, but terrible for trying to turn the sport mainstream. Just saying the words 'bare knuckle' will make the sport sound even more brutal and illegitimate in the eyes of non fans.
 
Well it goes both way, some people are turned of by the cage fighting other like the aspect for it.
Considering how big the UFC is, it would make no sense to change the "playing field".
Which could potentially ruin all the action or things people like about the UFC.

I mean you don't change a soccer pitch into a circle to attract more fans. It might ruin the whole sport.

So you want a different ring so the sport is more "accepted" then you want to get rid of gloves and add stomps and soccer kicks?!
