An apple a day might keep the doctor away, but a bowl of ramen will definitely keep him busy with your spicy noodle dance moves. Especially on a gloomy Saturday, when the only thing more depressing than your mood is your fridge. Ramen noodles are like the superhero of your pantry, swooping in to save the day with their magical ability to turn cold and gloomy into a warm, fuzzy, carb-induced coma.

It's currently -14°C (6.8°F) with 22 cm (8 inches) of snow on the ground with another 20 cm expected overnight.

I’ve had beer, sandwiches, and salt and vinegar chips for dinner.

Now, I'm about to make some coffee and spend 20 minutes on the balcony, enjoying the clear night sky.

Recipe please!! I have the Momofuku book but it's across 6 pages so I do a sort of take on it.

For me pie. As in beef and Guinness but more recently, cod, scallop and prawn pie. That's my warm and comfy.

BTW, that's so amazing that you own Mizu Ramen Bar in Columbus, GA and decided to share one of your Instagram pictures from over 3 and half months ago!

Never claimed I owned it. Just wanted to provide a photo for visuals.

Here’s a simple recipe:

For the Pork Belly:
1 lb pork belly (skinless)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup mirin
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1-inch ginger, sliced
1 cup chicken stock

For the Broth:
6 cups chicken or pork stock
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp miso paste

For the Ramen:
4 servings ramen noodles
2 soft-boiled eggs
1 cup sliced green onions
1 cup bamboo shoots

(optional)
1 cup bean sprouts
Nori (seaweed sheets)

Beef stew, chicken & dumplings, chilli.

Those sorts of things.

I just had a wonderful Gumbo and a marinated steak. Only thing missing was the Martini, but it's dry January.

I don't like regular ramen. I prefer dipping ramen. It's ramen with a condensed soup and sometimes they give you a yolk to coat your noodles before you dip it. There is usually a kettle with Dashi and you can pour that into the condensed soup to make it more like regular ramen soup.

My favorite is mazesoba. The best part is left over bits in the bowl when you finish the noodles. You can ask for rice or a small serving of noodles.

You're alright, haha. The David Chang recipe is madness but I can hold my own with my version.

There are no winter snowballs in my partof Australia so I'll use my imagination and suggest a winter go-to

Its roast chicken, I've got a great butcher who supplies true free range chicken, they're typically 5lb chonkers that taste way gamier... knowing it's fine from the farm makes me appreciate the meal more. Last time I called him to place an order he was running up a hill at the farm retrieving a chicken for me lol

It's such a simple meal, just season it with salt and pepper then chuck it in the oven... no oil needed

Serve with roast veges and a garden salad (which we can eat any time of year here)... afterwards I boil down the the carcass into a stock and make a chicken & vege soup a couple of days later, served with smoked potato sourdough
