What’s a job that’s way harder than most people give it credit for?

some fields involved in dealing with trauma seem to rub off on the practitioners and those fields end up with high suicide rates. I used to hear that psychiatrists and counselors had a ridiculous rate of suicide, which makes sense when you're dealing with multiple people's issues. and, my uncle used to tell me that counselors start of crazy and that's why they get into psychiatry to try to heal themselves. I also heard dentists have a high suicide rate.

I believe Dentists have one of the highest suicide rates of any profession. Seems strange. I've no doubt it can be unpleasant, but it's a lucrative career and unlike a lot of medical specialities, you're not dealing with life-threatening conditions(most of the time).

Interesting, never heard of Dentist being one of the highest suicide rates. I wonder why that is.

According to this, the suicide rate for Dentists is second only to Medical Doctors,

Wow this eye opening, never knew about this. Very interesting information, thanks.

You're welcome.

I was particularly interested in the information about electricians having such a high suicide rate. One theory is that working with high-voltage equipment can effect the brain's own electromagnetic field, leading to depression.

That must be a head fuck. I was a juror on a ped0 case and had to see photos I wish I could forget. And probably nothing compared to what they look at.
I was selected to be a juror for a ped0 case too but asked to be exempted haha. Wouldn't do yourself any good going through it.

These content filtering job are usually contracted to 1 year then they'll replacing the staff. Hard to see anyone can last more than that without losing their mind.

Janitor

Imagine that you have to wake up every morning and go clean up other people’s shit and trash. And that you probably won’t be able to get a better job than that. And you have to do it every day until you retire, which on your salary will likely be well after 65.

Now tell me who works harder.

I think a dermatologist. Just imagine all the shit they see.

My wife is a dermatologist, she left general clinical practice for private anti aging clinics. Not directly do to the gross abnormalities but because how inconsistent her patients were with prescribed treatments and then seeing how ailments got worse

A strait gynecologist must be a tough one. After dealing with diseased sweaty stinky malformed pussys all day, you would basically have to become gay.

maybe they have quote in their office
"I was born straight, I will die straight, and all the stinky quim in the world can't take that away"

Working for fast food restaurants. I've never worked, but I think on your feet for most of the the day. Must get tiresome.
