You forgot Limbo Pete and Ruprecht, who both mod this sub regularly, and Computer Fogie, who seems to mod here less but posts here.

And what's the harm? Isn't it good to know who you're talking to on a discussion forum? To understand what the person believes in and why? Isn't that the entire idea of this place, to communicate, share thoughts and ideas with like-minded people? Wouldn't it be good to know those people better, to help reach a better understanding of why they feel the way they do?

So no mudslinging, just questions looking for information all in a quest to have us all get to know eachother better. If you want to ask question, do it WITHOUT BACKHANDED REMARKS OR JUDGEMENT. Honest inquiries here guys, not attempts at cornering beliefs and arguing them or questioning someone's character.

I usually have zero interest in discussing Politics though.
 
I think people should describe their views of each of the mods’ politics. That would be more entertaining than each mod giving a long and self-serving narration of their political views.

@Limbo Pete = Oregon level left. Basically he (opps, ze) stands in a field wearing birks and hemp pants apologizing to the grass if ze tramples it and doesn't takes a piece of ze's granola unless every squirrel gets a bite first.

As always fiscally conservative, socially liberal. But apparently that doesn't mean what it meant 10 years ago.

Fiscally conservative: We should reduce government waste and work towards efficient government. It does not mean small for the sake of small. Government still has a responsibility to the citizens, it should be fiscally responsible while meeting that responsibility. Not avoiding the responsibility or underfunding it just to do so.

Socially liberal: People should be allowed to do what they want with minimal government intervention. And the government should work to remove government backed barriers to equal access under the law for all people. Basically set it up so that society can dictate it's own direction, for good or ill.
 
Personally, I find political associations / identifications less interesting than discussing individual issues. I’m not so concerned with which perceived team I or anyone else is on. I find the team vs. team concept, in politics, detracts more than it adds...

Communication is needed more these days. I think too much emphasis on defining ourselves, and others, by political affiliations tends to stifle the chance at open minded conversation before it starts.
