...but what about forum leaders? Wouldn't it be fun to know where our mods and admins fall on the political spectrum? Might provide insights into the format of the War Room or how discussions are monitored and regulated.

And what's the harm? Isn't it good to know who you're talking to on a discussion forum? To understand what the person believes in and why? Isn't that the entire idea of this place, to communicate, share thoughts and ideas with like-minded people? Wouldn't it be good to know those people better, to help reach a better understanding of why they feel the way they do?

So no mudslinging, just questions looking for information all in a quest to have us all get to know eachother better. If you want to ask question, do it WITHOUT BACKHANDED REMARKS OR JUDGEMENT. Honest inquiries here guys, not attempts at cornering beliefs and arguing them or questioning someone's character.

@TeTe
@Peteyandjia
@Lead
@Lethal
@panamaican
@Bullitt68
@Arkridge
@Dragonlordxxxxx
@Drunken Meat Fist
@equus
@jeicex
@Zankou
@Madmick

Am I forgetting any? If you would guys, let us know where you would pin yourselves on the political spectrum.

EDIT: Forgot Zank, and just a heads up I'm currently on a reply ban that's coming and going every 20-30 minutes(FOR SOME REASON lol) and won't be able to reply to any questions. Sorry.

EDIT 2: Forgot Madmick, how could I! @Lead and @TeTe humor is much appreciated but I'm sensing you guys are actually afraid to be honest about your politics. Can you tell us why?

They are all fascist commies no need to investigate.

I'm a libertarian, but I don't really mod much in here, just tro.... I mean post.

Missing @Madmick , who probably leans more towards the go fuck yourself party.

Most of the mods of Sherdog do a good job of not being outright slanted, and a lot of these guys don't even mod the WR.

These aren't the days of Positive Balance dubbing people because they shit on BJ.

Strange, the reply ban is lifted again. Must just be bugs in the system.

But like I said in the edit, @TeTe, @Lead, any reason why a quick statement about your political leanings couldn't have accompanied the attempts at levity?

Genuine curiosity and an attempt at discussion driving this, so it'd be great to see forum leaders helping a thread with no intention beyond informing. Would be a great break from the partisan crap if you guys could put a little effort in.

I think Pan is hardcore liberal until he hits the polling station, looks at his income statements, trust fund and cap gains and says -- fuck it, republican it is.

I actually did a canvas of the mods on this site recently and found that the mods here are for the most part moderate to conservative to libertarian. There really aren't more than a couple leftist mods here.

Awesome that you're bringing info to the thread, but you failed to tell me where you fall, and then went ahead and basically tried to tell me the conclusion of the thread. :/

I think for the benefit of getting people's true thoughts, it'd be better for the thread if people spoke for themselves. But thank you.

EDIT:

Awesome replies below guys thank you. Was illustrating exactly what I was hoping it would: that all political stances can and are formed off a variety of different stances leading to an abundance of political platforms and a constant need for more. I wouldn't classify myself as a libertarian or conservative completely but agree with you both on numerous things. That just goes to show that we're forced too often to pick all or nothing positions that encompass too many issues to accurately represent individuals.

I hope we get more shares.

I lean right if I were to summarize everything I believe. The variation would be I don't necessarily believe in small government and think the higher priority would be a fully funded one (whether it means higher revenues or lower spending is negotiable). Also, I wouldn't subscribe to the Evangelical right either as I'm fine with gay marriage and likely okay with marijuana legalization from the data we have so far. I also think military spending could be cut significantly. The guiding principle that would classify me as conservative probably would be I'm cautious to change and thus I'm reluctant that government will be able to solve problems without unintended negative consequences being involved. With that said, I'm not always against it. I just know, more often than not, I usually am not for it.

I said earlier that I'm libertarian... and I mean that in very essence of preserving citizens civil liberties. I believe prisons are overcrowded, I'm for decriminalizing all drugs and prostitution (not legalizing for sale). I think as a benefit, cartel violence will be drastically reduced.

I'm pro-abortion in the sense that unwanted babies are a drain on society and fiscally irresponsible.

I'm also anti-intervention... meaning, I think we should end all foreign aggression bring our troops home and cut military spending by a lot and reinvest that surplus in our people at home. I also think we should back off of our love affair with Israel. Not saying not be allies, but stop giving them so much money and jumping when they say jump.

I'm a strong proponent of reducing the scope of the Federal government as well.. ditching TSA and most of the DHS. I'm all for a flat tax as well as long as the percentage is fair for everyone and privatizing retirement plans. I'd even be fore repealing the Federal Income Tax amendment since taxing labor is stupid and collect it through sales taxes.

I'm not anti-regulation, but I do think that regulations should only relate to protecting the consumer and enforcing contracts.

I'm also pro-immigration. Let people come here are take shitty jobs or even good ones if they're qualified. The more the merrier, but if I and everyone else has to pay taxes, then they should too. So at least do a better job of getting them up to speed as document workers.

Most importantly though, at the end of the day.... my biggest motto is.. let people do whatever they want, government shouldn't play the lifestyle police..as long as someone's civil liberties aren't being violated.

Does that answer your question???

Ill tell you what equus is...im a librarian..

Er...i mean...libertarian..
