If you know what you're watching you were impressed. Yes Stipe is past his prime but so is Bones and he's coming off an injury. Literally the most skilled and vicious fighter I ever seen. He's unbeatable as long as he picks who he fights.
fixed.

You have to love how a lanky old LHW goes up a division, decimates 2 top guys but somehow if he doesn't win against this 27yo 260lb HW on his absolute prime then it means he is and has always been shit.

So no you don’t have an answer as to whether Jon loses on the feet or on the ground.

Cool. Same as the last 16 years
I don't think Jon loses at all. He has great patience and game planning, has more tools than any other heavyweight and uses them successfully. Ive hoped for Jon to lose over and over again, but he only wins. I cannot deny his ability. As a massive Fedor nuthugger, I must admit Jon is the greatest. Appreciate him while he's around, we're in the twilight of his career after all.

I was both impressed with Jon, and unimpressed with Stipe. It's hard to tell how much of Stipe's performance was from age/being washed, and how much was from the ground and pound in round 1, but regardless he didn't look good.

Nothing Asspinall has done would make me think Jones would have any issue disposing of Tommy.

Cyril would most likely beat Tommy.
I agree, I really don’t see what people are seeing in aspinall that they’re so excited about. Nothing I’ve seen makes me think that he won’t just get taken down and finished with relatively little effort.

Jones doesn't look too bad since he is coming off a pec tear. He hasn't been training outside of camp. You can tell by his body.

I think Jones looked good. Not "prime" level but better than he's looked in a few fights. I kind of disagree with everyone saying Stipe looked awful, again not "prime" but pretty good. I feel like he looked "chinny" in his last couple fights, like you could get him out of there, and he took a lot of fairly big shots. Hard to judge a guy who can't put together offense on Jones when not many people have been able to effectively get off against him.

You are correct sir…also Tommy gets tagged a lot and Jones is not easy to hit.

im always impressed by jon. he takes little damage and has has a long career at the very top. Even with long periods of inactivity he always wins.....no ring rust

Jon Jones still has so many dickriders lmao

Dude looked kind of bad considering the opponent.

Stipe looked slow and plodding, and still landed some good shots on Jon Jones

Jons kicks are good like always, but other than that, he looked slow.

Jon even looked like he was slowing down.

How long do you reckon Stipe would have lasted against Aspinall?

Personally my guess would be around 45 seconds.

Jon did what he needed to do to dominate Stipe, finish him, and take no damage. It's incredibly silly to say he looked bad, or slow, or great. He did what he needed to do to accomplish every meaningful goal he had, that wasn't a lot to do, and he took no risks on top of that, so other than pointing to a high fight IQ, Jones's performance doesn't tell us much.

It was flawless in the sense that he didn't absorb a single strike in nearly 15 minutes but a heavy bag honestly would have given him more probelms

Yes but Stipe looked old so it's hard to contrast. I think Jones would beat younger Stipe too but it'd be more competitive and he'd eat a few. Stipe wasn't invincible and I don't think Jones has ever been hurt in a fight. I'd say we can glean enough from this fight despite the age difference to say Jones is most definitely more skilled.
