We're there any Judokas in the early UFC?

LOL i love this "Gracies made sure Royce would win by picking easy competition" shit is STILL going around 25 years later!
Guess you haven't seen who Neiman Gracies been fighting and beating.

Christopher Leninger was a former national champion who fought twice in the early days of the UFC, losing to Shamrock by TKO and then Mezger by decison.

Dudes Legit. I got black belts from him.

Most people dont know but he was basically Megatons main training partner.

Also yuck. I have the same lineage as McKenzie Dern.

I remember before the fight Ken Shamrock gave an interview where he said he learned some gi techniques for the case he clashes with Gracie again. Then he fought Leininger and displayed his new gi techniques, which consisted of grabbing Leininger by the collar and bashing him in the face with his fist, lol

till this day judocas gets salty that their art was never eficient in mma until ronda (and cause wmma)

You should have quoted the poster claiming there weren’t any questionable tactics employed to help Royce.
Well...depends... in his book, Art Davie´s narrative was all about them Gracies bein´ supremely arrogant about their art...

Now, there´s a good possibility that they kindah manipulated the 1st Rd of the bracket, as it appears they wanted to face a boxer, in tribute to Helio´s failed attempt to lure Joe Lewis into the ring.... but, on the other hand, they did 'put' Ken (the other favourite) in the same bracket...

That’s the only thing you believe they did to help Royce?

What unusual thing, different from the traditional Vale Tudo Fight Configuration, did they use?
All the things mentioned in the Bill Wallace Video that I posted and in the thread you posted. Like I said, I don’t believe EVERYTHING he says, but I do believe some.

Poor Bill´s clueless about the traditional Vale Tudo Fight Config.

That thread was assessed in the 2nd page:

I wasn’t talking about matchups. I’m talking about him saying fighters weren’t allowed to wrap their hands, they intentionally used a smoke machine when a fighter with asthma asked them not to, the belt choke, fighters not being allowed to wear uniforms. I don’t believe all of it but I do believe they stacked the deck. I don’t even want to discuss this dude I posted it because somebody implied there was absolutely no funny business happening. That ain’t true.

Meanwhile, between 1931 [Carlos Gracie vs. Manoel Rufino dos Santos] & 1991 [2nd BJJ vs Luta Livre Challenge], which Vale Tudo fight had wrapped hands?

Again I said I didn’t believe EVERYTHING he said.
Wise thing, since he´s pretty much clueless.

Anyway, acknowledge that, historically & contextually, in terms of technical evolution, UFC 1 was a stepback, or better, a tactical stepback, since the American market was the least mature & prepared for such a Fight Configuration.

It iz what it iz.

The notion that they were protecting Royce from Telia Tuli was a dead giveaway that he’s clueless, but I believe there’s some truth to his other points.
